Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor – Vocational Institution
Location: Kilifi
Salary: 50K – 80K
Our client is a skills development organization that has recently set up a vocational institution in Kilifi.
They seek to hire a Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for assist in managing the institution’s activities, supervising support personnel, coordinating activities such as special events, transportation and building maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Supervise and evaluate all non-instructional classified staff at the site
·         Manage all support activity schedules on, special events, sports activities, field trips, cafeteria, transportation, maintenance, playgrounds and cleaning
·         Manage all aspects of free and reduced lunch program/process, including managing the entire application process
·         Ensuring ongoing monitoring and implementation of transportation, food services, facilities maintenance, security and other third party service contracts
·         Manage community use of institution site
·         Manage the department budget
·         Responsible for institution safety plan: disaster preparation, fire drills, trainee, staff and public safety, and trainee health
·         Coordinate with the principal to maintain a positive, safe learning environment for trainees by enforcing the institution discipline plan
Skills and Qualifications
·         Degree in Business Administration or Higher Diploma in a relevant field
·         3-4 years experience working in maintenance
·         Effective written and verbal communication
·         Previous experience in stock taking is desired
·         A keen eye for detail
·         Strong time management and organisational skills
·         Ability to delegate and also oversee work in a supervisory capacity
·         Effective communications skills (including IT skills and report writing)

Job Title: Operations Manager – Vocational Institution  
Location: Kilifi
Salary: 100K – 120K
Our client is a skills development organization that has recently set up a vocational institution in Kilifi.
They seek to hire an Operations Manager to manage both staff, trainee and organizational needs.
This includes but is not limited to trainee recruitment, funding, quality assurance, marketing / PR, budgetary / financial administration, project management and human resources management.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Plan, organize, coordinate and control large group events, classified meetings, and community and family engagement events
·         Local contract manager for transportation, foodservices, facilities maintenance, security and other third party service contracts
·         Work with school staff to manage reporting and data tracking for all special education programs
·         Support all operational and logistical projects for start-up operations and prepare reports on site operations
·         Respond to and resolve routine internal and external inquiries with parents, employees and school organizations
·         Financial/budgetary administration – planning and monitoring
·         Handling correspondence – organizing and servicing committee meetings (producing agendas, taking minutes and producing reports etc.)
·         Coordinate with the director to maintain a positive, safe learning environment for trainees by enforcing the discipline plan
·         Responsible for public relations and communications plan: promote the institution through positive relations with community, businesses, parents and students
·         Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
·         Degree in Business Administration or related course

·         Minimum 5 year’s administrative experience
·         Experience within vocational training organizations
·         Experience of working with/training low capacity teams/grass root organizations
·         Effective communications skills (including IT skills and report writing)
·         Able to do stock taking – maintain equipment, textbook and supply inventories
·         A keen eye for detail
·         Time management and organization skills
·         Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
·         Critical thinking and successful leadership of cross-functional teams
·         Strong interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy

Job Title: Director – Vocational Institution
Location: Kilifi
Salary: 250K – 350K
Our client is a skills development organization that has recently set up a vocational institution in Kilifi.
They seek to hire a Director who will be responsible for the management of all aspects of trainee instruction and staff supervision of all its programs to achieve the optimum level of trainee retention and satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Responsible for site level budget monitoring and management, with input into budget development
·         Oversee the development and management of the Technical Training Centre management team
·         Create and maintain strong partnership between line managers and the HR business partners to establish sponsorship, manage stakeholders, conduct needs assessments, design, plan for implementation, deliver, and evaluate solutions and interventions that foster alignment and further Arc Skills’ talent and succession strategies
·         Coordinate technology implementation (planning, procurement, and training)
·         Oversee enrolment at school site and, as required, lead the enrolment process by working with the community engagement officer, school leadership, secretaries and trainers to meet enrolment targets
·         Advice the initial setup of the institution: This includes design and Implementation of institutional policies and procedures and advice the Recruitment, hiring, training and development of instructional staff
·         Engage with Community Liaison Officer on enrolment campaigns for trainees (e.g., new students, intent to attend, waiting lists) including engagement in local marketing initiatives, demographic analysis, and coordination with local/regional communications specialists
·         Observe and evaluate education staff
·         Work with school personnel to maintain integrity and accuracy of student records, including maintenance and tracking of attendance and retention
·         Maintain the appropriate records in compliance with National Gov, County Gov, Accrediting bodies (TVETA) and Arc Skills company policy
·         Review, maintain, and update existing curriculum
·         Respond to and resolve routine internal and external inquiries with parents, employees and school organizations
Skills and Qualifications
·         Masters Degree in a relevant field – Technical and Vocational Education
·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience as principal or director in a reputed technical institution
·         Experience working with/training low capacity teams/grass root organizations is a plus
·         Must demonstrate a distinguished track record of achievement in managing educational organizations, relishing innovation, change and a commitment to transformation of practices and structures
·         Proven track record of institution leadership in an international learning environment
·         First class communication, networking, operational and analytical skills
·         Knowledge of and experience in the use of technology in education
·         Project management experience desired
·         Effective communications skills (including IT skills and report writing)
·         Critical thinking ability and conflict management skills
·         Proven successful leadership of cross-functional teams
