Forklift Operator – 1 Position


Nature of Job: In this job you’ll need good physical coordination. You’ll also need to be able to follow written instructions and keep records.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include,
  • Positioning forks, lifting platform or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials.
  • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets skids or lifting device.
  • Recharges forklift batteries, as required.
  • Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.
  • Perform variety of routine tasks to assist in production activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, company policies and procedures especially on safety.
  • Loading and offloading goods from vehicles such as trucks and trailers
  • Load and offload goods delivered, and move them to and from storage areas
  • Moving goods packed in crates and pallets around the storage facility
  • Stacking goods in the correct storage areas, following stock control instructions
  • Checking loads are secure
  • Performing daily equipment checks, for example recharging the forklift’s  battery, fueling and maintenance
  • Helping to load and unload trucks by hand where necessary

Other requirements for the job
  • Clean and valid Driving License (stamped forklift)
  • 3 years driving experience in Class C & E
  • Previous experience in forklift operation and basic motor vehicle Mechanics would be an added advantage
  • Experience in operating Forklifts from 3 ton to 11 ton for more than 3 years

Maintenance Technicians – 1 Position
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include, 
 
Reporting to the Chief Technician. The main the purpose of this role is:
  • Reading and Interpretation of Drawings  – Creating equipment technical drawings in 2D and 3D using CAD; Checking the plant status of the refrigeration plant, compressors, backup generator and refrigeration containers; Maintaining processing equipment ranging from separators, homogenizers, UHT milk processing and packing machines and; Scheduling, servicing with contractors and attending to boilers and Maintaining the compressed air system equipment.
  • Repair, maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting and changing of conveyor belts, production machinery, Electro-Mechanical packing machinery, gearboxes, pumps, Air Compressors and forklifts; Interpreting spare part technical drawings with the technicians in the workshop for Machining; Service, repair and changing of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electric actuators for valves, pumps and other electro-mechanical machinery.
  • Workshop work including Electric arc & TIG welding, grinding, turning and machining on lathe machines, milling, sand blasting, mold engraving, powder metallurgy and fabrication and; checking mechanical systems such as elevators, mechanisms, drive systems for condition of working and carrying out routine, continuous and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Examine work orders and work with equipment operators to detect equipment problems
  • Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation.
  • Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.

Regional Sales Representatives – 5 Positions
 
We seek to hire 5 mature and dedicated individuals who will contribute effectively to the Company success. 

They will be posted to Eastern, Western, Nyanza, South Rift and Mount Kenya region respectively.
 
He / she will be reporting to the Sales Manager-UHT.    
 
The Purpose of the Job:
  • Meet monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets and grow sales month by month.

Dispatch Supervisor – 1 Position
 
Purpose: Assures the proper scheduling and dispatch of delivery associates within the Shipping and Distribution Department. 
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include,
  • Coordinates with drivers and dispatch clerk to ensure on time dispatches.
  • Provides effective feedback to associates and management using detailed written and oral communications.
  • Maintains a good relationship with sales force, customers, Cold Room and Drivers.
  • Analyze route efficiencies. Develop and realign as business needs dictates.

Dispatch Clerk – 1 Position
 
Position Objective
  • Ensure effective and efficient dispatching of finished goods to customers while maintaining product quality.
  • Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include,
  • Ensuring that dispatch is done as per request and standard operating procedures
  • Preparing work plans and scheduling activities in the dispatch section
  • Proper handling of goods and Verifying each dispatch (type, quality and quantity)
  • Following the FIFO method in dispatching products
  • Timely availability of quality and accurate data
  • Prompt and excellent customer care and service
  • Receive, process and prepare sales orders, ensure perfect orders are delivered
  • Liaise with the transporter in effecting orders

Production Supervisor – 3 Positions

Overall Purpose of Job:


The Production Supervisor holds overall responsibility for the correct and efficient operation of his production line during his shift. 

His main function is to meet set production targets with the highest quality and the highest practicable efficiencies as per the Company specifications.

Role Dimensions:
  • Organize the efficient processing of dairy products from raw materials through to the finished product ready for dispatch.
  • Coordinate and liaise with all service departments to ensure that all relevant information is communicated.
  • Monitor and control all efficiencies associated with production.
  • Control and motivate personnel to operate within defined safety and quality standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include,
  • Obtain an intimate knowledge of all operations to be carried out during the shift.
  • Design and implement production schedule in order to achieve daily sales allocation from production plan to coincide with product dispatch deadlines. Continuous review throughout shift.
  • Control and minimize wastage of raw materials throughout production process pertaining to all used commodities.
  • Supervise efficient and hygienic acceptance of raw materials.
  • Supervise production line operation with high efficiency and labour control.
  • Responsible for silo management including standardization, stock, rotation, CIP and identification of milk for specific product usage.
  • Monitor machine efficiencies and promote ways to improve them.
  • Report any machinery malfunction to the Maintenance Engineer.
  • Observe and liaise to ensure that finished products meet all Company specifications. Provide workable solutions to associated problems.
  • Ensure that all aspects of good manufacturing practice are adhered to, so that personal hygiene and safety requirements within Company are complied with.
  • Control the efficient use of manpower and overtime. Organize personnel shifts to achieve maximum efficiencies of labour to coordinate rest days, sick leave, training requirements and holiday entitlement.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include,
  • Must be able to work in and promote a team oriented and "Safety First" environment.
  • Must observe and practice all Department Procedures. Including; wearing proper PPE,      including respirators and all safety and sanitation.
  • Follow all GMP guidelines.
  • Safety and efficiently operate Packaging Department equipment/machinery as assigned to meet department goals. Including but not limited to; Filler, Labeler etc.

Primary Objective:
 
Responsible for establishing the handling & testing requirements for Dairy based products. 

Will also be responsible for establishing the GMP and GHP requirements for the milk handling facility and will supervise and assist with necessary Quality Control testing to ensure that highest quality standards are maintained and adhered at all times.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include,
  • Responsible for quality activities related to milk processing unit
  • Responsible for assisting in all quality activities.
  • Direct reporting to Quality manager.
  • Development of systems in dept. and ensuring the smooth run of plant as per
  • production planning.
  • Responsible for assisting in delivering quality as per the production plan.
  • Direct responsibility to ensure quality of all products within specifications as per company requirements
  • Direct responsibility for achieving the targeted yields, losses and usage factors for ingredients and utilities.
  • Direct responsibility for achieving performance indicators.
  • Direct responsibility for handling process and line operations.
  • Direct responsibility for the GMP and GHP score for the processing and packaging area.

Laboratory Technician – 1 Position
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include,
  • Reporting all the activities that have occurred during the process operations with all the due documentation. Handover /Take over of tasks should be clear, comprehensive and accurate to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Preparation and standardization of laboratory chemical and reagents for use in the laboratory.
  • Sampling, analysis and testing of incoming raw materials, work in progress (WIP) and all finished products while ensuring a high level of accuracy in all the tests carried out. Retests in duplicates may be done as may be necessary and feasible. All the test results obtained must be reliable.
  • Ensuring Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) are upheld and that the work environment is clean and tidy.
  • Responsibility over the handling and operation of all laboratory resources under your care. All malfunctions, breakages or shortages should be promptly reported for remedial action.
  • Application and upholding the use of the company certified test methods and procedures during the course of duty. Expected to fully understand the principle behind every test method used in Dairy Quality Assurance.
  • Recording and interpretation of data to the concerned departments (Production and Maintenance) for purposes of decision-making during process operations. All records should be simple to understand and well legible.
  • Report any anomalies immediately to the process owners, for corrective action and follow up and ensure the corrective action taken is effective and sustainable
  • Sample and test milk and milk products in accordance to the documented company’s sampling procedures.
  • Ensure the processes are well managed in order to guarantee the desired output from the processes and in order to achieve the set objectives and targets.
  • Troubleshooting all process anomalies as and when they occur followed by all documentation that related to the concerned product or process.
  • Ensure all the finished products meet the desired quality and safety standards.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be directed from time to time.
Qualification and Experience

Production Clerk
 
Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Production Clerk is responsible for carrying out various administrative tasks in support of production operations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include,
  • Verification , documentation and receiving of raw materials milk from the field
  • Maintain , update and tracks the different production related documents (Milk received , Goods produced , raw material records , employee list, overtime list, various reports, etc.);
  • Follows up on documents and compiles data pertaining to production , work related accidents and non-occupational work stoppages;
  • Compiles the information collected, production data, drafts charts and tables, interprets results, and drafts reports on a weekly or ad  hoc basis, etc.;
  • Ensure administration of completed job cards is done accurately and correctly
  • Ensure excess raw materials are returned and accurately recorded against jobs
  • Assist in daily job allocations and sticker creations for job card
  • Capture stock take count
  • Reconcile job cards to ensure accurate recording of material usage
  • Ensure correct labeling of bulk to SWI’s.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include,
  • Overseeing the Selling of UHT product in all regions in Kenya.
  • Responsible for overseeing the Sales Reps, Van Sales team & Merchandisers in the regions.

  • Developing Sales Agreements & documentation.
  • Reviewing sales performance of the entire team and ensuring that targets are met.

Dairy Route Supervisor – 3 Positions

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • To observe, improve and report the raw milk supply chain from the dairy farmers, milk graders, cooling station up to the processor.
  • This improvement should be towards KEBS standards of raw milk.
  • To train farmers on quality of raw milk and good husbandry to increase income.
  • To train milk-graders, milk-transporters and dairy technicians in the supply chain.
  • To guide and train the Dairy farmers / Cooperative Societies on milk quality and traceability.
  • To link-up the farmers, the Cooperatives and the Processor.
  • Provide dairy value chain development and commercialization support to smallholder farmers and co-operatives in the assigned region.
  • The position holder will coordinate raw milk supply chain activities under the supervision of the Milk Procurement Manager and will be responsible for the effective and timely execution of planned activities within region.
  • Coordinate and conduct all key trainings for dairy groups in group dynamics, cornerstones and animal health management.
  • Design training materials and other promotional methods and materials to promote farmer coordination, mobilization as they relate to improved livestock management and animal well-being.
  • Develop robust production monitoring indicators including a strong database for all production and productivity parameters.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting on key trends in production and productivity. Including: collect, analyze and validate relevant data and produce technical reports as key input in designing strategies to increase production and productivity as well as supporting capacity building efforts for farmers.
  • Monitor production and productivity related indicators at producer organization level and provide timely advise to enable attainment of key productivity targets;
  • Provide technical support to farmers and cooperative societies to setup robust extension systems that effectively serve smallholder farmers to increase production and productivity.
  • Provide technical support to farmers to prepare and implement efficient feeding, extension and breeding plans;.
  • Work with input service providers including Artificial Insemination services, to ensure that they deliver training and quality services to farmers – feeds, animal  drugs, equipment, breeding services among others;
  • Submit timely weekly, monthly and quarterly reports indicating progress for each of the targeted farmers or cooperative societies.
Qualifications Required:
  • Field experience with dairy farmers with emphasis on training
  • Knowledge of common raw milk tests and readiness to learn advance testing practices
  • Proven record in communication skills and report writing
  • Diploma / Degree in Dairy Technology, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Education and Extension, Agri-business management, Agricultural economics or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 (Five) years field/technical experience with agribusiness development, farmer cooperatives, entrepreneurship and/or a business related field in the dairy sector.
  • Proficient knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, electronic mail (Microsoft Office preferred) and Internet.
  • Fluency in both oral and written English and Kiswahili. Knowledge of local dialects will be an added advantage
  • A rider’s license is a requirement for this position with a rider’s driving experience of 2 years.
