Job Title: Network Engineer - IP

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform network security design and integration
  • Design and implement network topology to meet needs such as IP telephony, L2MPLS VPNs, L3MPLS VPNs, IPv6, Frame Relay, Ethernet technologies etc
  • Daily administration and oversight of the network and computer systems
  • Diagnose problems and solve issues, often under time constraints.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and train staff in best practices for customer service
  • Provide network and host based security, incident response, firewall and VPN management and administration.
  • Implement the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction.
  • Assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration and security best practices.
  • Provide network documentation.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
  • Monitor network usage, anticipate problems and suggest solution
  • Work closely with colleagues to meet team goals and improve processes and practices.
  • Remain current on emerging technologies via professional groups, trade magazines, internal and external training, independent research and study, and other avenues available.
  • Rapidly respond to emergency situations, including direct response as well as coordination of other IT/Network staff, both during and outside of normal business hours.
  • He will be responsible in leading the technical team on day to day routine, e.g. design, network growth strategy, budgeting and implementation of efficient systems, customer technical support, architect for customer solutions and sales team liaison for RFQs, Bidding and ensuring customer SLA levels are met and exceeded
  • Ensure that technical team performs within set technical guidelines by providing or co-authoring standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for Internal SLA to departments/ group companies and External SLA to customers/partners.
  • Play a key role in product development from R&D to building it and presenting to Sales for marketing & sales
  • Timely weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual report
  • Other duties as assigned
Education, Skills and Experience Required for the position
  • To qualify you must have a minimum of 8 years technical and management experience at executive –level (experience on GPON,SDH, VSAT & Wimax will be an added advantages).
  • CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIE / CCIE written or practical preferred
  • The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Degree in Information Technology/Comp Science / MBA preferred.
  • Experience advising and communicating with non-technical staff and guiding technical decisions
  • 5+ years of expertise in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including: firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers, and monitoring applications
  • Knowledgeable in application transport and network infrastructure protocols (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, WINS, NTP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, CIFS, LDAP, and Microsoft AD), and possess an understanding of how to support these applications / protocols when accessed through VPN and firewall appliances.
  • Experience deploying an enterprise campus Wi-Fi network
  • Understanding and implementation of network traffic analysis, remote access methods and systems, stateful inspection firewalls, encryption, authentication and authorization technology.
  • Hands on technical experience working with VPN technologies (IPSEC, SSL VPN, WebVPN, AnyConnect, DMVPN, etc.)
  • Configuring network services using open source technologies on Linux servers
  • Willingness to engage in mentoring more junior staff members and interns
  • Experience in a fast paced support environment in a campus networks as a member of a 24x7x365 network and/or security operations team.
  • Expert level skills with Windows and Mac Operating Systems.
  • VMware Enterprise administration experience
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technologies and products, independently using documentation and online resources
  • Strong combination of strategic planning, communication, interpersonal, management, and leadership skills.

Job Title: Sales Account Manager - Enterprise

Profile and Main Purpose of the Job: SimbaNET Com Limited is part of The Wananchi Group and one East African’s leading internet, data and entertainment companies, first Triple Play brand, incorporating broadband internet, cable television and voice services. 


The SimbaNET Sales Account Manager will work within the SimbaNET Sales Department and will report to the Corporate Sales Manager on Daily Activities. 

It is expected that the As Sales Account Manager will independently and manage sales within the SimbaNET Sales Department and at the Customer.

The Main Focus will only be Sales & Collection, Client Relations. 

The Sales Account Manager will independently produce and manage quotations/proposals /tenders and will submit them to the Customer under the supervision of the Corporate Sales Manager. 

The target will be to close all sales calls.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
(a) Identifying and developing suitable Corporate, Government and Regional Prospects to approach for selling SimbaNET and Group Products, Solutions and Services
 
(b) Carrying out sales tasks associated with the Sales & Marketing department
 
(c) With the approval of the Corporate Sales Manager; Negotiating rates for proposed product or solutions
 
(d) Creating and building relationships and database with prospects with focus on Corporate, Government
 
(e) Drafting Agreements and following up with the customers for signing; Follow up payments of customers after the invoice has been raised
 
(f) Liaising with other departments on a quick and smooth implementation and commissioning of the projects.
1.    To achieve prescribed level of sales and performance in key areas and maintain a pipeline of opportunities.
2.    To work and collaborate with internal departments, pre and post sales, to ensure that all aspect of the sales are achieved effectively and on time.
3.    To proactively establish relationships with partners, key business organizations, government bodies and other bodies where required.

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Corporate, Government and other Vertical market - Pursue large special projects and all tenders that are viable and profitable.
  • Collections - Work with government and projects accounts to ensure payments that are due are made in a timely fashion
  • Information Exchange – Submit detailed and accurate weekly and monthly reports
  • Client Relations
1.    To ensure the customers’ expectations are met, that they get their money’s worth, collection, ensure all customers have valid contracts, customer visit and feedback, customer retention.
2.    To manage and administer customer accounts including schedule of activities, costs, invoicing and follow-up.
3.    Responsible for fore fronting the Client Relations team, which shall be overseeing the building lasting business partnerships with our corporate clients
4.    Responsible for all aspects of a Client Management Process to ensure a high level of satisfaction
5.    Implement a solution to a client by ensuring that all key project aspects are delivered within a timely and professional manner
6.    Ensure all clients has valid contracts
Specific Responsibilities:
 
Sales Activities
  • Assist the Corporate Sales Manager if required particular on: Sales for the range of products; Direct sales to regional end users where appropriate; Quotations; Marketing support; Exhibitions
Collections
  • Work with the Client Accounts Manager to assist in efforts to collect amounts from various government entities and affiliates
  • Provide accurate feedback on progress made in weekly and monthly reports
Information exchange
  • Submit detailed and accurate weekly and monthly reports
Requirements:
  • A degree or HND in any commercial related field or Information Technology or any other suitable discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years corporate selling experience in Telecommunications – ISP, PDNO, GSM operators, Resellers etcetera.
  • Should have good knowledge of customer relations and vastly networked.
  • Good knowledge of (but not limited to) - Wimax, Fiber and VSAT technologies, would be an added advantage
  • Ability to multi task and deliver on other tasks as may be assigned by the superiors from time to time, with minimum supervision.

The Sales Manager will work within the SimbaNET Sales Department and will report to the HOD SME Sales on Daily Activities. 

The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for the following key areas in Sales
 
Department:-
 
(a) Responsible for the Team performance leading a group of sales staff.
 
(b) Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned territory.
 
(c) Provide leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values.
 
(d) Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for channel partners.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
SME Sales
  • Suggest; assist in identifying sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Responsible for the performance and development of the sales staff.
  • Set up sales plan in order to archive sales target required by the company providing a detailed sales action plan to ensure that targets are achieved on a monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • Support, motivate staff member to achieve individual and team target.
  • Supervise daily work of sales staff.
  • Build up good relationship with service provider in the responsible field.
  • Negotiate or assist in negotiation with accounts in order to improve closure with sales staff.
  • Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Market update report on new services, competitors, business opportunities etc.
  • Work closely with other job functions in the company to improve overall services level.
