Finance Manager - Africa Programs

Strategic Function:The Finance Manager reports to the Director of Global Finance Operations - Africa and plays a significant role in strengthening of core global systems by ensuring proper accounting and reporting of resources in project implementation by managing large scale programs / projects in budgeting, financial management, internal/external auditing, systems development and implementation of finance/accounting policies and procedures.  

This position provides independently-led finance support across various area programs and teams and works as a finance support liaison between relevant Heifer departments and the country program offices.   

This person contributes to the global mission of scaling up of program impact by ensuring timely and accurate project financial reports and monitoring budget compliance and burn rates for effective implementation of projects. 

This person also contributes to growth and diversification of revenue by assisting in budgeting for new projects during concept and proposal development.  

This position works directly and in consultation with similar positions in other teams to promote consistency throughout the area program.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field of study plus seven (7) years of related experience
Preferred Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Accounting or related field of study plus five (5) years of related experience
  • Supervisory and project management experience a plus
  • Project management training
