ICAP
of Columbia University is working in partnership with the Ministry of Health,
Kenya to strengthen HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment services at County and
Sub County health facilities.
This
program is part of a US Government initiative against HIV in Kenya that
receives funding from PEPFAR through the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC).
Position: Monitoring & Evaluation Officer
Location: Kisumu with travel to ICAP sites in the Nyanza region (Kisumu
& Siaya Counties)
Overall
Job Function: The
incumbent will work under the overall guidance of the Director of Monitoring
and Evaluation to provide technical support in the planning and implementation
of monitoring and evaluation (ME) activities within the ICAP HIV prevention,
care and treatment program.
The
appointee will work under the direct supervision of the Regional Senior
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide
mentorship to facility staff on the appropriate use of HIV-related M&E
tools, reporting to the MoH DHIS2 database and on use of nationally
approved HIV electronic patient-level databases (C-PAD, IQ-Care, Kenya
EMR)
- Lead
in the collection, aggregation and timely reporting of periodic and adhoc
data to donors and the ICAP program
- Conduct
periodic data quality audits of both paper and electronic medical records
for data quality assurance
Requirements
- Degree
in a Health Records Information, Epidemiology, Statistics or related field
- At
least 4 years experience in HIV program monitoring and evaluation.
Previous experience in PEPFAR programs preferred.
- Strong
familiarity with HIV-related MoH tools (MoH 731 and HIV related-HTC,
C&T, TB and MCH Registers), MoH DHIS2 database system and Microsoft
Excel
- Ability
to plan and manage simultaneous competing priorities with little supervision
