Its current agricultural strategy is Value addition and Market linkages including packaging and distribution of large scale agricultural production of legumes and integrated farming of high value horticultural crops including yellow passion fruits.

Job Title: Farm Manager
 
Station: Siaya County  
 
Salary: KES. 35,000/-
 
Overall responsibility: Planning, organizing and managing all activities of the farm and the farm workers in Siaya County and ensuring that there is economic utilization of resources for maximum farm output and profitability.

Position reports to: The Executive Director 

Key Responsibilities and Duties: 

 
1. Business Management
  • Plan, direct and coordinate farm activities to ensure that the business goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget parameters.
  • Championing the Implementation process of the farming activities and ensuring that the farm targets are achieved.
  • Identifying any operational business risks and taking appropriate actions.
  • Participating in the development of the annual farm budgets.
  • Monitoring progress against budget trends or variances.
  • Making requisitions and purchases for farm supplies, such as insecticides, machine parts or lubricants, and tools.
2. Personnel Management
  • Maintaining a team of quality staff and enhancing the farm’s reputation as an employer.
  • Managing personnel records.
  • Investigating grievances and settling disputes to maintain harmony among workers.
  • Regularly calling staff meetings to disseminate the company agendas and expectations.
  • Obtaining  and maintaining  staff duty rosters on a daily basis from the supervisors
  • Managing employee exit
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
3. Production Management 
  • Responsible for achieving the farm production targets by ensuring that best agricultural practices, company policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
4. Stock management
  • Managing all stock associated with the farm business and ensuring that there is zero variance between what is recorded in the system and what is physically in the store.
5. Record Keeping
  • Maintain all farm records in an accurate and timely manner
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
  • Minimum Degree qualification  in Agribusiness or Related field from a recognized university
  • 2-3 years farm work experience in a medium size company in a similar or related position.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Job Title: Storekeeper  

(1 position)
 
Station: Siaya County
 
Salary: KES. 15,000/-
 
Overall responsibility: Receiving goods, accounting for, distributing and issuing equipment, apparatus, materials, and supplies
 
Position holder reports to: The Farm Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Duties;
 
1. Store Supervision & Maintenance
  • Ensure the efficient utilization of storage space while maintaining compliance with product storage requirements, by developing an appropriate storage plans.
  • Ensure workplace health, hygiene and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the store by ensuring that it is lock at all times.
  • Arranges for repairs of a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Ensures warehouse inventory is organized and stored in an orderly, accessible and safe manner.
2. Stock Management

  • Control inventory levels by reconciling what is in the store and what is out of the store on a daily basis and ensure that there is zero variance between what is physically in the store and the records in the system.
3. Stock Dispatch
  • In liaison with respective end users within the organization, inspect the quality of products delivered prior to signing off delivery notes.
  • Conduct and document a monthly stock take of all inventories per category.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the management.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
  • Minimum Diploma in stores and/ or supply chain management.
  • 1-2 Years experience in managing a medium company store/ warehouse.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, pushing, pulling and moving heavy materials, equipment and boxes
  • Ability to organize workload, work under periodic pressure and complete assignments with minimal supervision.

Job Title: Accountant 
 
Station: Siaya County 
 
Salary: KES. 30,000/-
 
Overall responsibility: Responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures by analyzing, developing and summarizing financial information for financial reporting and audit purposes.

Position reports to: The Executive Director 

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Receivables management; send monthly statements to clients pick payments and document financial transactions by entering account information appropriately.
  • Payables management; Preparing payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
  • Petty cash management; prepare requisition for approval, issue case vouchers,   record receipts and ensure all vouchers are well document.   
  • Banking; carrying out banking activities and monthly reconciliation of bank statements.
  • Filing and record management; file original copies of invoice, delivery notes, goods retuned noted and any other relevant document in an orderly fusion.
  • Payment of statutory deductions; file PAYE, NHIF and VAT withholding tax.
  • Payroll Management; prepare employees’ salaries on a monthly basis.
  • Summarizing current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the management.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
  • CPA Graduate (Registration with ICPAK is an added advantage)
  • Degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university
  • 2-3 years accounting experience in a medium size firm.
  • Conversant with QuickBooks Accounting software and Ms. Excel.

Job Title: Agronomist  

(1 Position)
 
Station: Siaya County
 
Salary: KES. 20,000/-

Overall responsibility: The position holder will have an overall goal of achieving maximum produce at a minimum cost by exploiting agricultural best practices.  
 
Position holder reports to: The Farm Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead; the implementation of farm management plans to guide the monitoring and evaluation of project activities.
  • Properly document; organize and capture activity/project progress by Inspecting crops and fields to determine maturity, yield, infestation, or work requirements, such as cultivating, spraying, weeding, or harvesting.
  • Evaluate; the financial impact of all projects undertaken within specific periods so as develop forecast for the organisations’ future needs on the farm.
  • Make recommendations; on appropriate methods and products to be provided to farm workers to increase the production and quality of crops.
  • Conduct; insect, weed & disease research and develop methods and recommendations for relevant products to assist in the control weeds and pests to keep crops disease-free
  • Develop; periodic reports for internal use as and when needed.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge; by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
  • Contribute; to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and ensuring that the work environment is safe and healthy.
  • Perform; any other duties that may be assigned by the management.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
  • Degree in agronomy or related field.
  • 1-2 Years farm experience in crop production life cycle.
  • Practical experience in application of agricultural best practices.
