Chief Accountant Job Vacancy (90K)

Our client, a Kenyan Luxury Hotel Group, is looking to recruit a young, committed and loyal Chief Accountant for its property in Zanzibar. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the finance department together with the group finance manager. 

Experience in the hospitality / F&B industry is a MUST. 

Key Responsibilities;

  • Responsible for accounts payables and petty cash management.
  • Maintains & reconciles ledgers using sun systems.
  • Responsible for monthly stock taking and variance analysis.
  • Responsible for all tax and statutory requirements.
  • Prepares junior staff payroll.
  • Prepares budget & monitor variances.
  • Ensure that the organization’s internal controls in cost processes are adequate, functional and confirm to regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in commerce or finance.
  • Must have a CPA / ACCA with at least a degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Must have at least 3-4 years of experience in audit & general accounting.
  • Must have experience in the hospitality /F&B industry.
  • Demonstrable experience in financial management.
  • Strong understanding of accounting systems, especially sun systems, Fidelio, micros and materials control.
  • Leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong financial management skills.
  • Proven analytical skills and logical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent Presentation and communication skills.
  • High personal integrity and commitment.
  • Ability to generate and interpret financial dates, financial modelling and business plan.
  • Valid passport.
  • Certificate of good conduct.
  • Willingness to relocate to Zanzibar and at least stay for 2 years and above.
  • Fewer commitments in Kenya e.g., family, which would require travelling back and forth.
Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 90,000/= plus other benefits (Approx. 900 USD) depending on experience
