Context: Under the overall supervision of the Regional Health Assessments Coordinator for Sub-Saharan Africa and the direct supervision of the Migration Health Physician responsible for Telerad / Radiologist, the successful candidate will be responsible in providing effective and efficient overall administrative support to the Tele radiology Centre Nairobi Regional Office for Africa and sub-Sahara region and administrative support to the field operation in the region.
Context: Under the overall supervision of the Regional Health Assessments Coordinator for Sub-Saharan Africa and the direct supervision of the Migration Health Physician responsible for Telerad / Radiologist, the successful candidate will be responsible in providing effective and efficient overall administrative support to the Tele radiology Centre Nairobi Regional Office for Africa and sub-Sahara region and administrative support to the field operation in the region.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Coordinate
with IOM country operations in the region, both orally and in writing
regarding the different steps of the teleradiology service:
1.
Receiving of requests for teleradiology services and
coordinating the preparation
2.
Communicating the arrangement of the X-ray reporting schedules
in the centre,
3.
Getting additional information and correcting error in bio data
of individuals or images during the service
4.
Notifying the additional view requested by the radiologist
5.
Confirming the list of individuals with reported CXRs by the
centre.
- Assist
in preparation for implementing service to new field locations and day to
day system support, including correcting system and data errors in
coordination with Radiology systems and PACS administrators.
- Coordinate
with the finance unit to ensure appropriate and timely financial billing
to Country Offices (COs) and processing of payment request for Consultant
Radiologists, with timely and regularly preparing the request for payment
and invoices as needed.
- Coordinate
with the IOM Global Teleradiology Center, Manila for getting technical
support and guidance as needed.
- Provide
administrative and clerical support to the Teleradiology Center in Nairobi
in terms of procurement, human resources, or any other related concerns
that may arise. Including processing request for quotation, and preparing
PRs.
- In
coordination with the supervisors and the IOM Global radiology Center
Manila, assist in organizing radiology trainings, providing technical
guidance and regularly updating standard operating procedure for the
radiology Center.
- Assist
in drafting various radiology related reports and other documents.
- Perform
day-to-day housekeeping in the business process of the radiology Centre in
Nairobi, Kenya.
- Act
as the focal person for the radiology Center, for receiving and
coordinating the service requirements and relating radiology service issues
from the region.
- Assist
the Radiologists in the Teleradiology Centre when needed including,
entering data into electronic medical systems/e-Medical and save it, check
for completeness of the part filled by the country operations and
coordinate with focal persons in the country operation to ensure that
entries are complete.
- Coordinate
with the Radiologists in the center for schedule and the list of e-Medical
cases when the cases are ready for completion and submission by the
radiologists.
- The
incumbent may be requested to provide support during weekends, holidays or
outside working hours as well as “stand-by” focal on a rotation basis.
- Perform
such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- High
school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience or
Completed university degree in one of Health Sciences, Health Informatics,
Business Administration, or Social Science, Information Communication
Technology or a related field from an accredited academic institution and
two years of relevant experience
Experience
- Good
knowledge of information communication technology and proficiency in
Microsoft Office applications especially Excel;
- Experience
and understanding of Digital radiology and Teleradiology systems an
advantage;
- Previous
work experience in an international organizations and companies an
advantage
Languages

in English and Kiswahili is required.

Context: Under the overall supervision of the Regional Laboratory Manager and the direct supervision of the Laboratory Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine clerical functions and ensuring prompt and accurate for result posting of the laboratory data and information.

The candidate will assist with regional
logistics for equipment and consumable transport in the Laboratory.

- Ensure strict adherence to fraud prevention
measures in all aspects of work performed for refugees/migrants.
- Receive and verify requests forms for laboratory
examinations and encode bio-data and medical information into the
laboratory database.
- Generate and print laboratory results
accurately in a timely manner and release/dispatch results to requesting
physician or clinic.
- Prepare bookings for DNA sample collection.
- Assist in gathering and consolidating
laboratory reports from IOM laboratories in the region in required format.
- Provide support in laboratory activities to
the Regional Laboratory Specialist.
- File paperwork in the laboratory in an organized
and easy retrievable manner.
- Assist in maintaining the laboratory database
for Kenya laboratories.
- Assist in stock management activities;
dispatch the laboratory supplies to Laboratory in Kenya and region and
keeping stock records and data base.

- Secondary school diploma from an accredited
educational institution; International Business Administration

- Four years of working experience in office
administration or related area.
- Experience in programs of Access, Excel,

Saharan Africa, and the direct supervision of the Migration Health Physician, the incumbent is responsible for operating and maintenance of x-ray equipments including DR, CR and x-ray machines and maintaining the x-ray rooms to produce radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes to ensure that refugees are medically fit to migrate in accordance with the medical/health requirements of the resettlement countries.
Context: Under the overall supervision of the Regional Health Assessments Coordinator for Sub-
Saharan Africa, and the direct supervision of the Migration Health Physician, the incumbent is responsible for operating and maintenance of x-ray equipments including DR, CR and x-ray machines and maintaining the x-ray rooms to produce radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes to ensure that refugees are medically fit to migrate in accordance with the medical/health requirements of the resettlement countries.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1.
Authenticate the identity of the
applicants undergoing radiological examination by signing on the photos or in
any authentication method required by the resettlement countries.
2.
Prepare patient-applicants for x-ray
examinations by explaining the procedure, removing articles such as jewelry,
through which x-rays cannot pass, positioning patients so that parts of the
body can be appropriately radiographed.
3.
Calibrate and adjust x-ray equipment
in accordance with general and individually prescribed protocols.
4.
Adhere strictly to internationally
accepted standards of safety for the patients and staff while performing
Radiology examinations. Observes applicant-patient and machine during procedures,
and reports unusual occurrences and records patient’s condition.
5.
Produce and develop chest X-rays and
other radiology techniques/examinations, as requested by the supervisor.
6.
Maintain records of films and digital
images taken in the unit, prepares statistical reports and analysis.
7.
Ensure proper care in the use of
equipment and supplies.
8.
Ensure that regular maintenance work
is carried out periodically and inform the supervisor in case there is a need
for any extra maintenance / repair on any piece of the used equipment.
9.
Verify the technical correctness of
the produced x-ray images , thus limiting the need for repeated examinations.
10.
Review the x-ray images taken in
order to ensure technical correctness / good penetration was used, prior to
releasing the patient.
11.
Burn x-ray images onto CDs and label
them appropriately
12.
Upload x-ray images daily onto PACs
server .
13.
Transmit x-ray images taken daily to
radiologist in Nairobi, Manila or designated radiologist as may be advised and
provide list of images to be required to be reported.
14.
Keep all working areas in the
Radiology facility clean and dry.
15.
Ensure that the radiology room
activities are carried out professionally and adhere to quality control
standard requirements.
16.
Maintain a standard stock level for blank
CDs and CD envelopes and other supplies, and assist the supervisor in
determining the quantities for replenishment and requisition.
17.
Perform general office duties such as
delivering and retrieving CDs scheduling patients, typing forms, recording and
reporting.
18.
Clean the CR and cassettes regularly.
19.
Perform mobile mission duties in
locations that may be required and to provide training to radiographers in the
region.
20.
Perform any other duties that may be
assigned from time to time.
Required Qualifications and
Experience
Education
- Technical Diploma in Radiology. Registered to
work as Radiology Technician with Kenyan Radiation Board
Experience
- Knowledge of appropriate x-ray exposure times
and safety parameters. Knowledge of photographic development techniques
- Minimum of five years working experience as
Radiology Technician preferable in busy Radiology Facility, international
organization and or NGOs running refugee programmes.
- Ability to follow and enforce safety
procedures.
- Ability to calibrate, configure, and adjust
x-ray equipment in accordance with procedures and standards,
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and
confidentiality in data and records keeping.
- Proficient in Microsoft windows
