Recruitment of Board Members
 
World Vision Kenya is a child focused Christian humanitarian, relief, development and advocacy non-governmental organization with projects in most parts of Kenya. 

World Vision Kenya has an existing Intermediate Board in line with the World Vision Partnership policies. 

We wish to recruit for highly qualified, motivated and result oriented leaders / influencers in their respective fields to serve as Board members on a voluntary basis for succession. 

Collectively, the qualified candidates should represent a relevant diversity in experience, competence, age, gender, church affiliation, ethnicity and geographic backgrounds.

Desired Areas of Expertise:
  • Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
  • Education - Basic Education
  • Livelihoods and Climate Change
  • Health especially Paediatric, Nutrition and HIV and AIDS
Key Competencies / Skills:
  • English language fluency (written and verbal).
  • Good communication skills including public speaking and presentation skills
  • Must be a committed Christian who participates in the worship and life of a local church (a Trinitarian denomination)
  • Willing and able to devote significant time (minimum of 12 days) during each calendar year to Board and committee service on a voluntary basis.

  • Analytical and critical thinking with a sound understanding of the prevailing social, political and economic situation in Kenya

Others:
  • A heart for the poor and committed to the ministry of World Vision.
  • Not an employee of World Vision, or a close family member of a current World Vision Kenya employee
  • Not a former National Director of WV Kenya, who served in that capacity during the previous three years
  • Good reputation in the country for character and competence.
  • Willing to subscribe and adhere to the Mission Statement, Core Values, Statement of Faith, Covenant of Partnership and other applicable WVI Board-approved policies
  • Former sponsored children/ direct beneficiaries of World Vision are encouraged to apply
