Our client, a Law Firm in Nairobi is
looking to fill the following positions
Certified Public Secretary (CPS-K)
This position is responsible for
ensuring that the firm’s clients comply with all relevant laws and regulations
and provision of legal services and compliance with best practice standards of
corporate governance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Organize, prepare agendas for, and take
minutes of Board meetings and annual general meetings and communicate
promptly decisions made for appropriate action or Implementation.
- Provide company secretarial services to the
clients
- Work closely with the clients’ external
secretary to ensure filling of annual returns is done on time.
- Maintain statutory books, including registers
of client members, directors and secretaries.
- Ensure that the company’s legal risks are
managed effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor changes in relevant legislation and
the regulatory environment, and take appropriate action.
- Manage the clients Securities &
Documentation and ensure efficiency in its operations.
- Manage Client Company’s Share Registry and
ensure efficiency in their operations.
- Advice and guide the company on international
legal obligations affecting company
- Custodian of the clients company seal and be
responsible for its use
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time
to time
Education, Professional
Qualifications, Skill& Competencies:
- A registered CPS (K)
- A suitable degree from a reputable University
is an added advantage
- At least 3 year’s relevant experience.
- Strong management and negotiation skills
- Computer literacy and familiarity with standard
office computer application
- Excellent interpersonal and communication
skills
- Excellent knowledge of corporate, regulatory
and company law, rules and norms.
Administrative Assistant
This position will be responsible for offering secretarial services , which will include; preparing legal documents; proof reading documents; dispatching mail; reviewing matters for bring up; planning the supervisors diary and ensuring that the intray is clean; assisting the supervisor to manage tasks and meet their targets.
The position will also relieve the
receptionist from time to time.

- Degree in Secretarial Studies or Business
Administration
- Minimum two years’ experience in a similar
position
- Must be over 26 years of age
- Possess excellent interpersonal and
organizational skills combined with a high level of initiative and detail
orientation
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally
and in writing
- Ability to work independently and consistently
meet deadlines
- Must personable with a professional demeanour
Advocate (Senior Associate)
Required qualifications, skills and attributes:

- LLB (Upper division) degree from a recognized
institution
- At least a grade B in KCSE
- Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
- At least 5 years robust experience in a law
firm
- Diverse practical experience in commercial
and/or conyenancing
- Must be over 30 years of age
- Works well in an environment with firm
deadlines; results oriented
- Perform multiple tasks effectively
- Able to work independently and meet set
targets
- Strong analytical skills required
- Maintains strict confidentiality in all
matters
- Possess advanced skills in customer service as
they relate to legal concepts and provides effective solutions
- Must be well organized, detail-oriented and
personable with a professional demeanour
- Excellent communication skills necessary to
interact with other lawyers and clients
