- Support Group CFO in all aspects of developing
Rwanda business
- Proactive support to the Group management team
through the provision of quality financial information.
- Preparation of financial statements through
effective co-ordination and review of all data.
- Assist the business achieve budgeted profits
and optimal working capital levels through proactive financial management
and regular monitoring of results.
- Develop a financial governance framework
including forecasting and reporting systems.
- Help management put together a realistic 3/1
annual Financial plans.
- Support Marketing & Tender Teams in price
and cost Analysis.
- Managing local relations with the institutions
relevant to finance e.g. banks
Scope of work
The incumbent will be required to:-
- Perform Turnover analysis by project giving
detailed commentary on material variances between actual certificates and
budgeted/expected certificates.
- Verification of the actual gross profit by
project and comparing this with the budgeted gross profit and giving a
commentary on any material variances between actual and budget for the
country.
- Verification for expenses for all the projects
and the country office ensuring that the postings are correct.
- Providing financial information support to the
Head of Financial Accounting, Commercial Manager, Tender manager, and the
respective Project Managers.
- Ensure timely submission of accurate periodic
data to Finance Group shared services through ERP system and MS
Excel as required
- General management support
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Monitors project progress on a daily basis in
comparison with planned activities.
- Circulates a Weekly analysis to aid reporting
by Head of Commercial finance.
- Supports management by putting together
realistic 3 year country financial plans which guide the business on how
to achieve its goals.
- Ensures the integrity of financial data
provided to users including corporate finance with an aim of safeguarding
business assets and assisting management make informed decisions.
- Monitors that overheads are kept within
budgets and that projects are implemented effective with an aim of
ensuring that the business achieves its targeted profits.
- Monitors gross profits of the projects and
investigate key variances from plan and suggest remedial actions with an
aim of ensuring that the business delivers the budgeted profits.
- Verifies the Tender prices to ensure that the
prices quoted are not too low resulting in business making losses.
- Prepares a monthly actual versus budget
analysis to for the month and year to date and give explanations for major
variances and suggests remedial action. This is to ensure that the
management is well informed of all business trend.
- Preparing country month on month
forecasts
- Implements roll out plans set out by Head
Office Finance for new systems or changes in systems.
- Ensure timely, and accurate submission of
period data into system
- Manage relations with banking institutions,
auditors, insurance companies, tax authorities, customers and suppliers
and other relevant institutions.
- Development of key business processes
- Collection of receivables
Person Specification
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or relevant field
- Professional Accounting
certification/qualification (ACCA qualification preferred)
- 7+ years’ experience in a similar role in a
busy corporate office
- Excellent oral and written communication
skills
- Good negotiation skills
- Demonstrable ability to work in a matrix
organization
Key Deliverables for the first 6
months
- Support the Group CFO and ensures the
organisation is fit for purpose.
- Launch the growth of the business
- Preparation of a 3 year country plan
- Ensure accuracy and correct posting of the
data in the system
- Ensure all key system users in each project
are well conversant with the system
- Ensure consistency in the weekly and monthly
reporting
- Support Group Functions develop and implement strategic initiatives.
