Profile Introduction: Our client, a leader in the energy industry seeks to recruit a self-driven individual to the position of Corporate Tax Manager. 

The successful candidate will be tasked with Leading and Managing multiple operations of the tax practice area and delivering quality tax services that will increase firm’s reputation. 

He/She will serve as single point of all company tax matters and also as business advisor to company internal clients aiming at maximizing engagement and achieving qualitative outcomes.

The successful candidate will have the following primary responsibilities:

A: Tax Compliance
  • Ensure that the organisation is tax compliant;
  • Ensure that tax computations are accurately and efficiently undertaken;
  • Review local tax procedures and monitor adherence to Group tax rules;
  • Maintain tax balances on general ledger;
  • Prepare all tax documentation on a regular basis and respond to data requests in a timely manner.
B: Tax Advisory / Consulting
  • Build relationships and interact with Tax Authorities and internal clients
  • Identify and mitigate tax risk;
  • Provide innovative tax planning;
  • Review complex income tax returns;
  • Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices.
C: Tax Audits
  • Manage, coordinate and prepare tax audits and investigations.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration or Economics;
  • Knowledge of  the Kenya / International Tax Laws and IFRS;
  • Proven working experience as Tax Manager / Consultant  with at least 6  years of experience in a Tax Firm;
  • Knowledge of tax software and MS Office
  • Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns;
  • Good overall tax knowledge and
  • Knowledge in complex tax matters: Pension, Deferred tax, Transfer pricing.
