Reporting
to the Head – Head – ICT Projects, the person’s primary responsibility will be
management of projects to ensure that the expected objectives are delivered on
time and within budget.
He/she
will focus on meeting project commitments including communications with the
sponsor and other stakeholders in addition to spending significant time on
project management responsibilities.

The Role
Specifically,
the successful jobholder will be required to:
- Lead
and manage implementation of projects including competing time demands for
multiple projects within given timeframes.
- Lead
the development of, and assist clients with the development of quality
requests and analysis of new system requirements and information requests.
This includes facilitating the definition of project missions, goals,
tasks, and resource requirements and or assisting in the resolution of
conflicts within and between projects or functional areas;
- Be
responsible for assembling the project staff; for their technical or
functional development, performance, and/or termination during the project
or projects.
- Manage
project budget and resource allocation.
- Facilitate
the definition of service levels and customer requirements. This will
involve interacting regularly with existing or potential clients to
determine their needs and to develop plans for improving delivery.
- Be
an advocate on behalf of clients and represent clients' needs as
appropriate to senior management. Work cross-functionally to solve
problems and implement changes.
- Follow
a defined, agreed upon project management methodology by developing
methods to monitor projects or area progress, and providing corrective
supervision if necessary.
- Participate
in the planning and/or testing phases.
- Present
oral and written reports defining plans, risks, problems, and resolutions
to appropriate levels of management.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A
Bachelor’s degree in an ICT related field from a recognized university
with a Certification in Project Management – Prince 2 or PMP.
- Minimum
5 years of increasingly responsible experience, including experience
successfully managing various ICT projects.
- Outstanding
grasp of information technology concepts and processes.
- Demonstrated
aptitude for effective leadership of staff.
- Energy
and enthusiasm with a strong client focus.
- Experience
in business process analysis preferably in a multi discipline environment.
- Highly
developed analytical skills with an ability to remain focused on outputs
and to adjust delivery mechanisms to meet deadlines and client needs.

We have an exciting opportunity for
an Operations Risk Manager to join our Risk Department.
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer,
the role holder will be responsible for identification, measurement, mitigation
and reporting of Operations risk exposures of the Bank.
This will involve the following key
risk parameters – Operations Risk policy maintenance, Risk Registers, Risk
Control Self Assessments (RCSA), Risk events reporting & loss data analysis
and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).

Specifically, the successful
jobholder will be required to:
- Champion the overall Operational Risk
Management Framework and best practices within the Bank while acting as a
center of excellence for Operational Risk.
- Develop and communicate the Operations risk
appetite and risk limits that will be applied by the business &
support units.
- Assist in the development of Operations risk
mitigation strategies for the bank’s critical operations and for
monitoring the same. Work with Business and Operations units within the
Bank to establish, maintain and continuously improve risk management
capabilities.
- Coordinate the Risk Control Self assessments
(RCSA) framework across the various Support and Business units of the
bank. This will also include collation and reporting of the results.
- Ensure that the Bank identifies, measures,
reports and minimizes Operations risk exposures.
- Generate regular reports that monitor the
various risk exposures that the Bank faces. These include but not limited
to Operational Risks, Risk Events and Loss Data Base.
- Review Bank processes to ensure that adequate
controls are in place to identify, monitor and control risks associated
with the processes.
- Document, review and regularly update the
Bank’s Risk Register, Key Processes & Risk Indicator Registers.
- Assist in reviewing internal policies,
procedures, new products & services, and make recommendations for
enhancement of controls and risk mitigation as appropriate.
- Assist the Chief Risk Officer in drafting the
Board Audit & Risk Committee quarterly reports.
- Develop and conduct Operational Risk Awareness
training.
- Implement the Business Continuity Plans for
the unit.
- Develop Operational Risk Management standards
and tools that align to industry best practices and ensure effective
processes are in place to identify measure, manage, monitor and report on
operational risks.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in business
administration, finance or related field from a recognized university with
a Risk Management qualification(s)/ACIB/AKIB or CPA.
- Five (5) years hands-on Banking experience in
a busy front or Back office Operations function, IT or Business related
function. Experience of a minimum two (2) years in a Risk management
related function, will be an added advantage.
- Thorough knowledge of CBK prudential
guidelines.
- Ability to clearly communicate strategy, plans
and issues across the organization by developing business cases,
presentations & stakeholder communications even with senior
management.
- Strong analytic, logical reasoning, and
problem solving, risk vs. reward skills
- Ability to work well in a team, as well as
manage multiple priorities in quick time frames
