Profile and Main Purpose of the Job:
 SimbaNET Com Limited is part of The Wananchi Group and one East African’s leading internet, data and entertainment companies, first Triple Play brand, incorporating broadband internet, cable television and voice services. 

The SimbaNET Business Development Manager will work within the SimbaNET Sales Department and will report to the GM Sales- SimbaNET Com Ltd on Daily Activities.
 


Key Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall coordination, the functional management and leadership of all of the sales activities of the Managed Services and Large Enterprise Sales in Kenya along with Key account focus for non-managed services business within the company, i.e. Public Sector Sales, Enterprise Key Accounts. 

Will be responsible for running Managed Services and Large Enterprise Sales with him as a key profile. Along with this Sales Head of Department will be responsible to run all the enterprise products which shall fall under Enterprise business unit. 

He will be responsible to acquire Managed Services and Large enterprise business in Kenya.

1. Planning:
  • Responsible for the establishment of both annual and monthly sales objectives in coordination with the Company's business plan/budget.
  • Proactively develop and implement strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
  • Responsible for providing an annual Sales Plan and providing quarterly updates, revisions and modifications to the Plan.
  • Responsible for coordinating the specific objectives of the Sales Plan with all of the functional departments of the company and, most specifically with Finance and Commercial
  • In coordination with the General Manager, establishes both market and target customer strategies for the company.
  • Customer specific Marketing Activities plan for quarter and year.
  • Ensuring team is aware of products, training arrangement as and when required along with presales team.
  • Working on tenders proactively.
  • Successions plan for partners ( Tata )
2. Execution
  • Responsible for the successful management of the needs of the Company's customers in order to meet the objectives of the company's overall business plans and strategies
  • Proactive approach towards sales and meeting targets
  • Assist Team in monitoring competitor products, sales and marketing activities
  • Manage all of the field and in house sales functions of The Company's facilities.
  • The Position specifically is responsible for all Managed Services, Enterprise sales and Business Development activities of the company.
  • Define and assist to manage the monthly and annual sales objectives with all of the Sales Account Managers
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Supervising the entire tender process for all the prospects.
  • Spend a significant portion of time in the field both with individual accounts and co- traveling with sales personnel
  • In coordination with the General Manager, establish compensation plans for all sales
  • Commission plans, sales contests and bonus plans to assist in developing
  • Keep up to date with recent market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies
  • Time to time take proactive actions towards marketing requirement and plan the events
  • Weekly, Monthly reports
  • Achieving all targets month on month
Overall Responsibilities:
  • Overall coordination, functional management and Leadership of all of the sales activities of the Managed Services and Large Enterprise Sales in Kenya
  • Information Exchange – Submit detailed and accurate weekly and monthly reports
Requirements:
  • A degree in any commercial related field or Information Technology or any other suitable discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years corporate selling experience in Telecommunications – ISP, PDNO, GSM operators, Resellers etcetera.
  • Should have good knowledge of customer relations and vastly networked.
  • Good knowledge of (but not limited to) - Wimax, Fiber and VSAT technologies, would be an added advantage
  • Ability to multi task and deliver on other tasks as may be assigned by the superiors from time to time, with minimum supervision.
  • Of good temperament, right attitude, innovative and responsive in carrying out their duties.
Required Competencies:

  • Excellent communications skills and strong negotiation skills
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) and Kiswahili (spoken)
  • Ability to grasp the fundamentals of Sales and manage the cycle
  • Ability to quickly grasp concepts, work under pressure, deliver to meet deadlines
  • Must be self‐driven, motivated, enthusiastic, positive and pleasant individual who is result oriented
  • Ability to interface and communicate professionally and politely at all levels within a corporate environment
  • Must have emotional maturity to enable them to work with customers who may sometimes be upset
  • Must pay attention to detail to ensure all aspects of customer satisfaction are covered
  • Must be a team player and can demonstrate the ability to work with the various departments within the company to achieve the shared Vision
  • Ability to accurately report sales figures, trends and customer requirements
  • Ability to assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work product
  • Ability to manage staff as well as facilitate change
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays as in when needed

Job Title: Marketing Executive / Officer

Key Responsibilities
 
Marketing Executive is involved in developing marketing campaigns that promote Wananchi Business Services. 

This role primarily includes Planning, Execution and Post Implementation Evaluation of the Marketing Initiatives in line with the Organization’s Strategic Objectives.
 

Key job tasks of Marketing Executive

Planning
  • Drive execution of the Marketing Planning through the line (PR, Digital, advertising and experiential / events marketing for all markets
  • Manage budgets
  • Managing the briefing process with all 3rd party agencies
  • Input into the Annual Marketing Budgeting process
  • Plan the day to day execution of marketing initiatives
  • Day to day liaison with key agencies
  • Responsible to ensure we have measure and evaluation reports in place on project completion
  • Plan certain ‘One-Off’ Activities in support of the Organization’s marketing activities as may be required from time to time
  • Identify opportunities of brand building, sales enhancement through marketing and communication
Execution
  • Co-ordinate, Supervise and Oversee the perfect execution of the Organization’s Marketing Activities
  • Ensure the performance 3rd Party service providers in line with their contractual obligations and for the benefit of WBS.
  • Ensure that the Company’s Communication Channels and messaging including the Website and other Social Media are kept current and relevant
  •  Provide succinct briefs linked to business objectives for all customer facing agencies in relation to the Brand and Product marketing as well as research on all casual matrices
Post Implementation Evaluation
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the marketing and communication tactics and activities against set/identified goals and objectives
  • Provide high level actionable reports from Market Intelligence reports and other critical feedback obtained during and after the execution of the marketing plans
  • Explore ways of and expanding the effectiveness of marketing activities/ campaigns
  • Manage any adverse/ negative outcome of marketing and communication activities including negative publicity affecting the Company’s brand
Minimum Qualification:
  • B Com degree in Marketing (or equivalent) with sales diploma preferred.
  • Experience in an agency dealing with below the line and above the line marketing concepts
  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar field or related field with track record in sales
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • In-depth understanding of the company’s current products and future concepts
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively 
  • Budget-management skills and proficiency 
  • Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges
  • Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies
