Job
Summary: The
Accounts Assistant performs a wide array of accounting, record keeping,
reporting, and general business tasks to support the accounting and finance
division.
The
Accounts Assistant is responsible for working with the Payables Accountant on
ensuring that Accounts Payables are managed effectively.
Responsibilities:
Payables
- Code
and post non-inventory purchase ledger invoices.
- Perform
supplier statement reconciliations
- Ensure
staff expenses are processed in line with current Expenses Policy
- Ensure
company credit card expense claims are processed accurately and reconciled
regularly
- Act
as custodian of the petty cash float
- Prepare
payment runs (bank transfers and cheques).
- Ensure
that all non-LPO payments are properly authorized.
- Work
closely with external suppliers and help resolve any queries, maintaining
good communication.
- Work
in accordance with the AP SOP at all times.
- Proactively
propose changes to the AP SOP to ensure relevance and efficiency.
- Identify
and arrange replacement of any missing documentation, whilst ensuring good
communication with internal customers.
- Scan
and file invoice documents and perform other such clerical functions as
may be required from time to time
- Contribute
to the Accounts Payable team’s performance by ensuring that no backlogs
occur and that the Payables Accountant is fully informed of all potential
problem situations
General
- Assist
other functional units within the Finance team in carrying out jobs as and
when required by the management.
- To
understand the AFEX requirement for QHSE in the workplace including
employee and team responsibilities, to ensure continuous adherence to QHSE
policies, procedures and work instructions and to proactively promote a
quality, health and safety approach in all areas of your work
- Providing
internal and external personnel with all appropriate monthly reports well
suited for annual/periodic audits.
Education, Skills & Experience:
- Degree
in Accounting or Finance
- CPA
part 2
- At
least 2 – 3 years’ experience in Finance department or related field
- Proficient
in ERP
- Strong
communication skills
- Proactive
and a problem solving attitude
- Team
working
- Prioritizing
and self-motivation
- Delivering
accurate timely results
- Accuracy
and attention to details
