Principal
Accountabilities
Sales
- To
manage the Commercial B2B Public Sector to achieve bottom line results of
the P&L such as C3 Margins, Volumes and DSO.
- Maintain
sales portfolio, monitor growth and performance .Drive business growth
with quality and accurate account plans.
- Use
SPANCOP tool to win new business from Govt departments such as GSU, Kenya
Police, State House, NYS, County Governments, Parastatals, etc.
- Identify
the firms which are being awarded Government tenders and work with them to
supply Govt departments. This should happen within VE group business
principles
- Develop
some specific firms to enhance capacity and partnership in tendering for
Government business.
- Manage
the tender processes to Government tenders and parietals adhering to all
the tender rules and regulations.
- To
build good rapport & maintain good customer relationship with all key
customers
- Market
Intelligence and monitoring – Maintain database of the size of the market
and the various competitors and market shares.
- Provide
regular market intelligence information, pricing and new tender
strategies
- Identify
opportunities through market intelligence /investment promotions
activities & Weekly calls.
- To
comply fully with standard offer book as per the customer promise
initiative
- Credit
management in-line with the company credit policy and manual of
authorities. Enforce trading terms on current debt. Credit appraisals as
required for all customers. Debt collection for all accounts on credit.
- Ensure
all invoices are delivered to customers. Highlight and resolve invoice
disputes with customers.
- Manage
and reconcile accounts.
- Implement
policies and procedures and ensure that the relevant controls are in
place.
Marketing
- Brand
Promotion – Grow market share in Government sector
- Promote
the use of alternative payments methods and easy of service delivery to
Govt department especially use of shell card.
Supply Chain
- Provide
accurate sales forecasts for effective S&OP process
- Work
with distribution to ensure smooth delivery of product to customers.
HSSE
- To
deliver on HSSE plan, conduct customer site audits, TnTs, toolbox
meetings, identify & report PI’s.
Job Requirements
- Qualifications
and experience: University Graduate with Business Management Bias.
- High
integrity and honesty is required for the individual while interacting
with Government officials and brokers.
- Competition
law must be observed and also VE group business principles.
- Networking
and negotiation skills is key for this role. Smooth management of cash to
order process is key.
- Management
of credit is key as the customers tend to have multiple suppliers.
