Based in Nairobi with regular travels to Eritrea

18 months contract with possible extension based on availability of funds
 
Job Profile: CAFOD works with partner organisations to combat poverty and injustice and to build a strong and dynamic civil society. 

We are looking for a highly motivated Programme Manager to support the work of our International Division to help alleviate vulnerability, suffering and loss of life, and to support build partner capacities in order to reduce vulnerability and strengthen disaster  preparedness in Eritrea.
 


Your Role: You will lead the programmatic and partnership aspects of CAFOD’s involvement in Eritrea in line with CAFOD’s global humanitarian strategy and country strategic paper.

In this regard you will manage the programme portfolio, oversee effective relationships with partners, manage the programme budget, support developing high quality funding proposals and ensure programme internal and external representation with the aim of keeping Eritrea high in the agenda.
 
Your Profile: You will be fluent in English with excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills, inter-cultural sensitivity and confidence in dealing with a wide range of NGO partners. 

You should have experience in managing large programmes funded from different donors as well as participatory project design with the use of analytical tools. 

We also expect you to be able to demonstrate good knowledge of developing and implementing monitoring systems to track the effectiveness of programmes and an ability to build cooperative, professional relationships with donors, partners and peer organisations.
