Vendor Manager - Mobile Phones & Accessories
 
Job Description:

The role of the Vendor Manager includes but is not limited to:
  • Handling relationships with new and current suppliers (includes talking to them every day and developing a rapport)
  • Getting the weekly mobile phone promotional material from the suppliers
  • Negotiating costs and payment terms for the mobile phones and accessories
  • Getting new mobile phone/ accessory releases as soon as the suppliers have them.
  • Shortlisting and prioritizing key mobile phone suppliers.
  • Finding new suppliers and try to source and sell every product within your category.
  • Monitoring stock levels and planning the purchasing policy well in advance.
  • Having an accurate knowledge of competition: who they are, what prices they have and their products.
  • Analyzing consumer buying behavior and predicting future trends in relation to mobile phones
  • Attending telecommunication related events/expos to identify possible suppliers.
  • Producing Monthly reports.
  • Liaising with various teams within the organization to ensure a smooth flow of operations.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree / Diploma in Business / Commerce Purchasing and supplies.
  • 2 years and above work experience sourcing and handling suppliers
  • Prior experience working with mobile phone retailers and/or suppliers
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent Knowledge of sporting equipment/products
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, Entrepreneurial and proven ability to deliver exceptional results.

Job Vacancy: General Merchandise Hunter

Job Description
  • Assist in coming up with a supplier sourcing (hunting) plan
  • Shortlisting, pre-qualifying and prioritizing key suppliers
  • Analyzing consumer buying patterns thus knowing which suppliers to focus on.
  • Meeting suppliers and negotiating terms of contract
  • Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers
  • Attending trade fairs/events to source merchandize (phones/electronics/ sports gear/ etc)
  • Seeking feedback from customers regarding merchandize sourced
Qualifications
  • Degree / Diploma in Business / Procurement / Purchasing & Supply
  • You have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in purchasing / dealing with suppliers/ sourcing
  • Very good IT skills
  • You are fluent in both written and spoken English.

Affilliate Program Associate (SEO / SEM / Digital Marketing)
 
Job Description

The affiliate program is a tool that JUMIA uses to promote the website and items on sale, through individuals (affiliates) who post/ share and publish links to items on sale on their websites/ blogs and social media pages.
 

The role also encompasses digital marketing, SEO, SEM, PPC all focused towards making JUMIA extremely visible online
  • Maintaining stimulating relationships with the current affiliates in the program
  • Introduce new individuals to the affiliate program
  • Train new affiliates on how the program works and how to share links and campaigns
  • search engine optimization by using techniques like Keyword Research, Copy Optimization, Article Marketing, site structure, URL re‐writes, social media, blogging and link building
  • Training affiliates on search engine optimization so that their posts receive maximum attention online
  • Improve rankings for JUMIA related searches online
  • Develop and monitor affiliate program promotions
  • Daily, weekly and monthly reporting on the affiliate program
  • Maintain on-going communication to affiliates on future campaigns
  • Identify and implement new features to enhance the affiliate program
  • Keep affiliates up to date on new products and any program enhancements
Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree/Diploma in Business/ IT/ Marketing/ Digital Marketing
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, (ASP/.NET a bonus) and site optimization is expected
  • Keen interest in digital marketing/ internet/ e-commerce
  • Experience with search engine optimization (SEO)/ online marketing
  • Previous experience promoting blogs/ websites is an added advantage
  • Skills interacting with CRM tools and content management tools
