Teachers Jobs in Kenya

Little Harvard Kindergarten is located in Kitengela town. The kindergarten provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where children learn and grow through creative play. We cater for children between ages 2 to 6 years. 


We are seeking ECD Teachers who are passionate about children to join our team from 1st Term in January 2016. 

The candidates should be living within Kitengela or its environs or are willing to relocate to Kitengela.

Kindergarten Teachers  

Reporting to the head teacher, the successful candidates should have experience dealing with day care to pre-unit classes (2 – 6 years). 

Essential Functions
  • Planning activities that meet the social, physical and emotional needs of the children
  • Develop scheme of work and lesson plans in line with the school curriculum
  • Schedule stimulating and learning activities for the children
  • Prepare teaching aids to facilitate children learning
  • Devises activities that introduce numbers and grammar concepts and makes note of the children’s progress both socially and intellectually
  • Devises games and activities, and also provides playing equipment, and ensure the playing facilities and equipment are clean and safe
  • Supervise the children as they learn and play
  • Discusses the children’s progress with their parents and keeps them informed
Qualifications
  • A diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education from a recognized college
  • At least 2 years working experience in a kindergarten setting
  • Proven ability to prepare teaching aids and lesson plans with good hand writing skills
  • Ability to establish and enforce rules for behavior and class control
  • Good command of English both written and spoken
  • Good organization and communication skill
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player
  • Must demonstrated passion for teaching and children
  • Additional skills( e.g. Art&craft, Music, or French) will be an added advantage
  • Ability to meet deadlines and sometimes work for long hours
