Organizational Context and Scope:
The International Organization for
Migration (IOM) is committed to the principle that humane and orderly migration

IOM acts with its partners in the
international community to: assist in meeting the growing operational
challenges of migration management; advance understanding of migration issues;
encourage social and economic development through migration, and; uphold the
human dignity and well-being of migrants.
In Kenya, IOM has since significantly diversified its programming since 2005.
IOM currently implements
interventions within the areas of emergency and post-conflict response,
preparedness and response, disaster risk reduction, livelihoods, healthcare and
psychosocial assistance, assisted voluntary return of migrants, immigration and
border management, migration and development, resettlement and repatriation, family
reunification, counter human trafficking, assistance to vulnerable migrants,
and labor migration.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Under the overall supervision of the
Head of Sub-Office Kakuma and under the direct supervision of the Procurement
Logistics Assistant, Kakuma, the incumbent will carry out the following duties
and responsibilities:
- Carry out the tracking and verification of
supplies quality and supervision of its loading, offloading and
transportation.
- Receive all incoming supplies, check for
accuracy against delivery notes and purchase orders, and report on any
discrepancies.
- Supervise casual cargo handlers, verify work
has been done, prepare and track payments.
- Ensure all assets are well maintained, stored
and assist in conducting a periodic inventory of IOM assets or whenever
requested.
- Coordinate with requesting units on
goods/services to be received and obtain satisfactory delivery notes.
- Provide and follow up the office needs of
stock, expendables, services and share the same with COS assistant/HSO.
- Ensure there is an adequate and neatly
organized filling system for waybills, inventory records and other
procurement and logistical records.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderly arrangement of
stores.
- As needed may Act as COS assistant during his
absence due to illness/leave.
- Perform any other related tasks as requested.

Technical

Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent in
Stores/Procurement or any relevant business discipline from an accredited
institution.
- A minimum of three years relevant experience
in a busy procurement and stores environment.
- Be proficient with Ms Office Products (Excel,
Outlook, word etc.)
- Be a team player, flexible and willing to
learn.
- Ability to pay attention to details, work
under pressure and meet deadlines.
Languages
Required
- Excellent written and spoken English and
Kiswahili
