Employment Opportunity: Assistant Medical Logistician

The ICRC Logistic Centre in Nairobi (Industrial Area) is seeking an experienced & highly motivated individual to fill the position of an Assistant Medical Logistician.
 
The Responsibilities:
  • Manage performance of the medical warehouse staff by measuring ,monitoring, setting goals and implementing corrective action;
  • Support the Regional Medical Logistician to strengthen Medical logistics competencies and capacities, attain and sustain a high quality of Medical Logistics services;
  • Ensure management of all medical stocks according to the ICRC procedures ;
  • Manage and ensure that the quality and standards of health care goods is maintained throughout transportation and storage;
  • Assist the Regional Medical Logistician plan logistical resources and capacities required for providing high quality services to health programmes in all countries of the region;
  • Ensure Logistics information system(JDE) is managed professionally by the medical team;
The Requirements
  • Holder of a Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy, or its equivalent from a recognized university;
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in a similar field;
  • Advanced Computer Skills(Word, Excel, Power point, Databases),;
  • Excellent command of English, French is an asset;

ICT Technician

He/She will give support and maintain proper functionality of IT setup in his/her area of responsibility. 

He/She should have a good knowledge at least on two of the following ICT domains: PC hardware and software, networking, telephony, radios, satellite systems and helpdesk.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Installs, programs, adapts and maintains all professional ICRC Telecom/Radio equipment (HF, VHF, UHF, Wave Mail, modems, antennas, cabling, power systems, batteries) respecting internal standards and procedures.
  • Installs, adapts and maintains all professional ICRC Informatics equipment (computers, servers, printers, peripherals, internal networks, power systems, cabling, modem, connections and internet facilities) respecting internal standards and procedures.
  • Shares knowledge and maintains technical and administrative information updated following internal documentation and reporting procedures.
  • Is responsible of the correct and updated inventory attribution of all ICT equipment in his/her area of responsibility in compliance with internal procedures.
  • Prepares all shipments of IT equipment and makes sure that items travel properly and safely packed and accompanied by the necessary documents as per ICRC procedures.
  • Receives and acknowledges all shipments related to IT equipment and reports in case of defect.
  • Repairs, organizes repairs or ships to IT/field monitoring return all ICRC equipment for repair.
  • Ensures stock are in order, free from pest infection, cleaned and secured.
  • Ensures that stock item positions/amounts do not exceed below minimum levels and reacts timely.
  • Organizes and controls movements of goods IN&OUT and maintains accurate records through internal administrative procedures.
  • Delivers independently monthly and periodical inventory crosschecks.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree, some college coursework completed, an Associate Degree or equivalent higher education degree in IT, electronics, computer science or similar field.
  • Additional vocational training in IT, electronics or similar field.
  • 3years of experience in IT, 1-2 years’ experience in electronics or similar position Experience in HF & VHF radio installations, VSAT and Satellite technologies.
  • Developer level in computer skills.
  • Advanced conversational in English and Somali language.
  • Skilled in the following competencies: Adapting & Learning; Planning, Organization & Assessment; Communication (Ability to express views and ideas); Analysis & Synthesis.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel in Somalia (frequent flyer) and to spend short-medium periods in the field.
  • Valid Kenyan passport.
