Vacancy: Management Accountant
Summary Role Profile: The management Accountant will assist in meeting
our client’s Financial reporting standards by providing timely information to
management and monthly management Accounts i.e. Statement of Comprehensive
Income, Statement of Financial Position and Budget score-carding.
He/She will be expected to play a critical role and get into the financial
detail behind Supply Chain Operations, Sales & Marketing Return on
investments (ROI), Pricing and margin analysis and Total cost of ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of financial information,
including the monthly management accounts, internal reporting packs, KPIs
and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
- Reporting of key cost drivers including
Productivity, Absorption Pricing Strategy, COGS and Inventory to the COO
on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
- Input into forecasting, budget and long-term
financial planning to ensure alignment with overall strategy;
monthly/quarterly and Annual targets.
- Ensure inventory is valued correctly and in
line with corporate policies, including adequate physical control of
inventory through cycle count policies and procedures.
- Conduct review of pricing Strategy i.e. price
setting, architecture, mark-downs and discount management for all products
across the Animal Feeds, Fertilizer, Agro-Chemicals, Minerals &
Supplements, Seeds, Farm Tools and Vet Products.
- Responsibility for working capital reporting
which includes: Reporting of spend by type, vendor against forecast and
budget, analysis of the efficiency of our capital spend and reporting of
the resulting return on investment.
- Preparation of the monthly headcount and staff
cost analysis with detailed reconciliations against budget forecasts and
statutory compliance.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable Portfolio in
liaison with the Credit Controller through timely collection follow-up with
Franchise customers and enhancement of cash flow within established zero
days sales outstanding (DSO).
- Play a key role in the delivery of Cost
Reduction targets by working closely with Supply Chain and Retail
functions to understand Business Unit and Product Line productivity
improvements and validate cost reduction opportunities.
- Drive adherence to International Financial
Reporting Standards (IFRS), including data integrity metrics and develop
the financial knowledge of Accountants & Business Partners through
engagement and training.
- Drive Sage Pastel ERP process changes in the
Integrated Finance Modules to maximize the provision of timely and
relevant information to key Business owners.
- A member of the Executive Management
Committee, you will participate in cross functional process improvement
initiatives and actively contribute as part of the Finance Team in setting
and achieving Strategic Objectives.
Required Knowledge, Education &
Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and/or Accounting
and must be a Qualified Accountant with CPA(K)
- 5+ years Commercial Experience in Finance
Process Improvements and Integration(Revenues of $1m+).
- Computer literacy with working knowledge of
Accounting ERP Systems.
- Highly analytical, organized, conscientious
with high attention to detail.
Key Performance Indicators
- Generate Statement of Comprehensive
income(P&L) by 4 Day of the month
- Generate Statement of Financial
Position(Balance Sheet) by 4 Day of the month
- Generate Statement of Cash flow by 4 Day of
the month
- Weekly Bank Reconciliations, Debtors &
Creditors Aging by 4 Day of the Month
