Job Title: Manager – Marketing & Communication

Overall Responsibility: The position holder has the responsibility of developing, establishing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives. Effective management of the marketing, communications and promotional activities of the organization.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities
  • Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and mark-up factors.
  • Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working with advertising and promotion managers.
  • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives.
  • Oversee creation and delivery of press releases, advertisements, and other marketing materials.
  • Deepen relationships with all media to ensure the most effective messaging and positioning of the organization.
  • Collaborate with Business Development & Underwriting Functions to develop strategic partnerships activities and implement the execution framework and strategic plan on identified opportunities.
  • Conduct market intelligence and keep management informed of changing trends.
  • Develop and lead a marketing team that will develop and execute new concepts, business models, channels and partners to position business as innovator and leader.
  • Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working with advertising and promotion managers.
  • Ensure brand positioning and brand equity.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the GM Operations from time to time.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s degree is an added advantage
  • Full professional qualification (CIM or Relevant)
  • 7 years working experience, three (3) of which should have been at a management level

Job Title: Underwriting Executive
 
Division / Department: Underwriting 
 
Immediate Supervisor: Underwriting Supervisor

Overall Responsibility:
 The position is responsible for assessing risks in accordance with laid down underwriting procedures in the company and ensure effective and efficient service delivery to customers

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review all applications for insurance – determine the profiles of risks presented to the branch / company for insurance and assess their acceptability or otherwise.
  • Review all reports from various service providers relating to proposals for insurance.
  • Review proposals for insurance and adjust benefits where necessary by reviewing previous files, worksheets, etc.
  • Ensure all related activities to underwriting are properly coordinated and enforced
  • Participate in sales initiatives.
  • Ensure timely preparation and dispatch of policy documents.
  • Review of suspense items and follow up on outstanding requirements with a view to reconciling them in record time.
  • Timely processing of quotations and tender documents, credits and refunds.
  • Liaising with intermediaries for business support
  • Any other duties assigned by management in line with task.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university
  • 2 years minimum work experience preferably in insurance industry
  • Progress in ACII/AIIK preferable

Job Title: Audit Executive 
 
Division / Department: Audit, Risk and Compliance
 
Immediate Supervisor: Audit Supervisor 

Overall Responsibility:
 The position is responsible for carrying out audits with a view to ensuring compliance with technical, operational, regulatory and corporate governance through adherence to KOIL procedures. 

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review  audit assignments including  proper planning, audit testing, schedules and developing audit programs, working papers or documentation, disclosure of audit findings and drafting audit reports in close liaison with Head of audit, risk and compliance,
  • Carry out routine, continuous and adhoc audits, compile quality and timely detailed findings, implications and make necessary recommendations to management for system and controls improvements,
  • Carry out special investigations and make recommendations as necessary,
  • Assist in identifying and investigating possible risk areas and reporting to management,
  • Assist in systems review with a view to advising on areas that need to be strengthened,
  • Assist in preparation of annual audit plan,
  • Assist in the review of internal procedures within the company processes,
  • Performing any other duties as required from time to time.
Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in commerce or equivalent
  • CPA(K) or equivalent/CISA qualification
  • 2 (Two) years’ experience in Internal Audit or in a professional Audit firm

Job Title: Branch Supervisor
 
Location: K.T.D.A

Overall Responsibility: The position is responsible for assessing risks in accordance with laid down underwriting procedures in the company and to ensure effective and efficient service delivery to customers 


Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reviewing all applications for insurance to determine the profiles of risks presented to the company for insurance and assess their acceptability or otherwise.
  • Reviewing  all reports from various service providers relating to applicants for insurance
  • Ensuring renewal notices are sent out on time and processing of renewal reports
  • Ensuring that all activities related to underwriting are properly coordinated and enforced
  • Ensuring timely preparation and dispatch of policy documents.
  • Assisting the branch manager in signing of accountable documents.
  • Timely processing of quotations and tender documents
  • Liaising with intermediaries for business support
  • Reviewing policies with debt and taking appropriate action.
  • Processing of credits and refunds and other relevant endorsements
  • Assisting the branch manager in day- to- day administration of the branch operations.
  • Supervising and staff development
  • Updating and maintaining credit note registers and policy dispatch registers
  • Motivating and talent management of staff.

Requirements

Job Title: Business Development Manager

Overall Responsibility:
 Responsible for identifying and opening new markets, recruitment and growing business from new intermediaries, soliciting and acquiring business from corporate and large clients, new product development and competitor analysis.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  •  Generate Business Development and Distribution strategies and carry out market research within and outside the Company.
  • Prepare annual budget for the business development function and ensure proper budgetary control.
  • Develop pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.
  • Coordinate and disseminate corporate marketing strategies to the identified distribution channels.
  • Identify/pursue new business leads and monitor customer service relationships.
  • Periodic review of business development policies and procedures to ensure their relevance to the business strategy and changing organizational needs
  • Spearhead product development and enhancement initiatives.

Job Title: Assistant Claims Executive

Overall Responsibility:
 The position is responsible for processing of non-legal Claims in line with the company policy.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in opening and acknowledging new claims.
  • Assist in appointing of service providers within the set benchmarks, reviewing their reports, and processing of claims as necessary.
  • Assist in initiating recovery from negligent third parties and promptly handing file to Legal Section for follow ups.
  • Assist in payment to policyholders and service providers within stipulated company benchmarks.
  • Assist in maintenance of registers.
  • Assist in maintenance of adequate claims reserves.
  • Assist to respond to correspondence and/or queries relating to claims falling under area of responsibility.
  • Make recommendations on settlements of claims falling under unit of responsibility.
  • Assist in preparation of claims reports e.g. monthly theft report, monthly salvage report and any other reports which may be required from time to time.
  • Performing any other duties as required from time to time.

Job Title: Assistant Legal Officer
 
Location: Head Office
 
Division / Department: Claims 
 
Immediate Supervisor: Legal Officer

Overall Responsibility:
 The position is responsible for controlling matters under litigation with external lawyers, all legal cases under their services, and out of court settlements and/or recoveries in liaison with the Senior Legal Officer.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in appointment of defense lawyers where action is brought against the company and ensure at all times the advocates work in the best interest of the Company.
  • Assist in recovery of company outlay from negligent third parties.
  • Assist in negotiating amicably, out of court settlements.
  • Review investigation reports, to ensure that they are comprehensive enough to meet the need for which they were sought, and recommend remedial action as necessary
  • Assist in processing of  payments to claimants and service providers
  • Assist in legal research and preparing legal opinions to both external and internal clients.
  • With the assistance of Senior legal officer, respond to any correspondence and/or enquiries regarding claims legal issues.
  • Maintain adequate reserves for legal claims.
  • Prepare legal documents as required.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Job Title: Assistant Manager, Legal

Division / Department: Claims Department
 
Immediate Supervisor: Assistant General Manager, Claims
 
Overall Responsibility: The position is responsible for assisting the Management in planning and execution of effective and efficient operational performance of the legal section in consistence with the company’s policies and practice. 

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participate in the appointment and vetting of service providers.
  • Manage the recovery of outlay from negligent third parties.
  • Negotiate amicably, out of court settlements for genuine claims.
  • Authorize payment of decretal or negotiated sums before expiry of stay of execution.
  • Ensure payment of service provider fees within the set performance benchmarks.
  • Conduct legal research and preparing legal opinions to both external and internal clients.
  • Draw, vet, and review legal instruments and/or documents as may be required by management from time to time.
  • Advise management on changing trends in management of legal claims.
  • Facilitate and /or respond to any correspondence and/or enquiries regarding claims legal issues.
  • Control of matters under litigation in liaison with external advocates.
  • Maintain adequate reserves for legal claims.
  • Provide on the job training to staff in Claims Legal section.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Laws degree from recognized university
  • Diploma from Kenya school of law
  • At least 3 years post admission experience in corporate company.
  • Working Knowledge of Insurance law and practice
