Inventory Controller

Job Purpose:
 This position is responsible to ensure proper inventory Management to ensure availability of Critical supplies and cause accurate Inventory records are kept in the warehouse.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures i.e. Manage inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Review, chose and execute warehouse management system solutions for all locations.
  • Achieve zero inventory without jeopardizing lean operations.
  • Design, execute and monitor engineering inventory management process.
  • Audit on inventory by coordinating with external and internal teams.
  • Meet company inventory needs by ensuring sufficiency of systems and coordinating with SAP teams.
  • Achieve operational excellence and deliver cost savings through inventory management.
  • Design and manage inventory management systems meeting facility needs.
  • Meet customer and company standards on accounting requirements.
  • Check routine inventory costs that impact KPIs and communicate outcomes.
  • Engage in Process Improvement and Innovation Team and support company culture
  • Establish measured daily, weekly and monthly KPIs though reports
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of accident investigation and safety communication
  • Managing consignment stocks with key suppliers
  • Ensure matching purchase orders, delivery note and invoice prices
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
  • Implementation of an effective MRP
Qualifications
  • Should be a Graduate in business related course and holder CIPS diploma
  • Exposure in computerized accounting system and sound knowledge of MS office
Experience
  • 10 years’ experience in Stores and stock management especially in a large  and busy organization preferably Manufacturing  concern.
