Vacancy: Secondary School Head
 
Hillcrest International Schools is an international British Curriculum based learning institution located in Karen Nairobi comprised of three schools; Hillcrest Early Years, Hillcrest Preparatory and Hillcrest Secondary / Senior School. 

Students at Hillcrest Schools range from as young as 18 months to 18 years of age.

We are looking for a Secondary School Headteacher to join our established institution, in September 2016 and fulfil our ambitious vision for the school. 

The successful candidate should be a graduate of a recognised institution and will be accountable for the outlined requirements:
  • Creating an environment in the school that fosters the school’s ethos and highlighting pupil achievements and well-being at the heart of all that the school does.
  • Directing and managing the education, both curricular and extra-curricular, provided by the school. Ensuring that the highest standards of teaching and learning are delivered through active and constant performance review of the teaching staff.
  • Establishing procedures, to monitor, evaluate and review the quality of learning, teaching, pupil development and achievement; in consultation with the board.
  • Ensuring that local/international regulatory requirements for the curriculum; school policies, premises, health and safety including the well being of staff and pupils are realised.
  • Leading, encouraging and supporting innovation in teaching and learning with a particular focus on the effective use of ICT.
  • Preparing the school for successful inspections i.e COBIS and actively taking part in teaching and other activities as appropriate.
The successful candidate will need to be an enthusiastic educationalist with an impressive background in heading senior schools. 

A detailed outline of ISI requirements highlighting extensive British Curriculum experience, along side excellent interpersonal skills are encouraged assets.
