Operations Manager Job in Kenya (120K)

Our client, an International School in Kilifi is looking to recruit an Operations Manager to manage the many aspects of the school’s smooth running (non-academic) with a view to possible further development of the school in the near future.

The Successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the operational departments of the school; Finance, Admissions, Human Resources, Information Technology, Facilities, Catering and Security. 

They MUST be willing to relocate. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Human Resources - Plan the use of human resources, delegate tasks and accountabilities. Establish work schedules. Supervise maintenance staff. Monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Communication - Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services such as IT, HR, Accounts and Finance. Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions.
  • Strategic Input - Liaison with top management. Assist in the development of strategic and marketing plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans.
  • Develop and manage systems, both digital and practical, to support and ensure efficiency and effectiveness in all school operations.
  • Design, implement and ensure adherence schedules to deliver timely and quality procurement of all school requirements.
  • Develop and ensure compliance to Health, Safety and Environment standards.
  • Financial - Review financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to improve profitability. Prepare and control operational budgets. Control inventory. Plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the school.
  • Best Practices - Improve processes and policies in support of school goals. Oversee the formulation and implementation of departmental and school policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Educator - for those interested, opportunities to work with the children in extra-curricular activities.  Additional ideas for projects that incorporate and benefit the local community would also be warmly welcome.
Qualifications
  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in finance or any business related field.
  • Must have at least 5 years experience in operations management at a senior level in a business environment. 
  • Experience in the education sector would be preferable.
  • Must be willing to relocate.
  • Articulate, professional demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy environment with a proven ability to meet and complete multiple deadlines and tasks.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills; ability to implement programs, manage details, and work independently.
  • Must have advanced proficiency in Excel and Quick Books is essential.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
Monthly gross salary: Ksh.80,000 - 120,000/= (Approx. 800 - 1,200 USD) depending on experience
