Micro - Enterprises Support Programme Trust (MESPT) is an autonomous local organisation whose founders are the Government of Kenya and the Royal Danish Embassy.
 
The overall objective of the Micro - Enterprises Support Programme Trust (MESPT) is to promote economic growth, employment creation and poverty alleviation through support to enterprises. 

MESPT provides integrated business development services to Micro Small and Medium enterprises leading to sustainable business growth across Kenya. 

As part of its expansion programme, MESPT is seeking the following highly motivated professional to join the existing team:
 
Job Title: Learning, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer
 
Ref: MESPT 001

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
 
Duty Station: Nairobi
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide inputs, information and statistics for quarterly, annual and other reports to CEO on the goal achievements.
  • Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshops.
  • Support monitoring and evaluation of the effects and impact of MESPT in Green growth and sustainability objectives.
  • Provide tools for measurable outputs and performance Indicators
  • Assist in the preparation of reports on the findings and lessons learned from MESPT project innovations and new products initialization.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports based on project activities.
  • Prepare risk alerts on projects that may be unsuccessful
  • Develop M&E system for the MESPT partners, donors, stakeholders.
  • Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures
  • Monitor all MESPT activities, expenditures and progress towards achieving outputs.
  • Recommend further improvement especially on business processes, implementation of projects and other business systems and tools.
  • Develop monitoring and impact indicator for the project success.
  • Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results.
  • Monitor the sustainability of the project's results.
  • Provide feedback on business strategies and activities
Other Duties & Responsibilities
  • Suggest tactics for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the business by identifying bottlenecks in completing project/ other business activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the manager.
Job Specifications:
  • University Degree preferably in, Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of M&E in development
  • Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports;
  • Proven ICT skills, especially using database software;
  • Expertise in analyzing data using statistical software;
  • Strong training & facilitation skills.

Job Title: Corporate & Communication Officer

Reports To: Head of Credit & Business Development.
 
Duty Station: Multiple Locations.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the Trust’s participation in public forums e.g. exhibitions, shows and festivals
  • Effective and pro-active management of media relations
  • Prepare speeches for official functions of the Trust
  • Facilitate the branding of MESPT while ensuring that the costs are within budget stipulated timelines
  • Carry out research based on both local and international press on possible causes of negative publicity and recommend appropriate interventions
  • Advice on suitable CSR initiatives and managing the activities
  • Organization of official functions, tours, and protocol matters
  • Representation of the Trust in forums that enhance public image and promote networking, collaborations and networks
  • Identify specific events that require packaging for dissemination to the media and public
  • Preparation and organization of forums where the Trust’s products and programs can be propagated and promoted
  • Manage internal and external communication and develop and implement an integrated public communications plan
  • Gathering information on policies, programs and significant events and how they impact in events and dissemination of the same to the public
  • Identify issues related to customer satisfaction and ensure that relevant measures are taken to address the issues
  • Ensure that all MESPT events are well branded with video and photo coverage
  • Design and development of communication materials
Other Duties & Responsibilities
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Job Specifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in, Communications, Marketing, PR, Journalism, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a role serving internal and external customers (ideally in a corporate affairs function); experience coordinating events for large and small groups; and if possible a direct experience with microfinance organizations.
  • Solid business acumen, project, program management, the ability to drive results, influence others, strong analytical and negotiation skills, excellent process orientation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, proficient computer skills (MS Office Suite.
  • Strong initiative, self-starter, highly motivated, cooperative attitude with team-oriented approach.
