Specialized trainings and wPOWER
Africa and wPOWER India exchanges at the Hub will increase the business and
technical capacity of women entrepreneurs related to clean energy technologies
and solutions, including an understanding of linkages to climate change and
reducing deforestation.
The Hub will empower women entrepreneurs from around the world by training on best practices on clean energy entrepreneurship, creating a platform for exchange visits with wPOWER international partners, and monitoring and evaluation of clean energy technologies in use within the network.

The Project is seeking to recruit an
M & E officer to be based at the wPOWER Hub.
The WMI wPOWER Hub M & E officer will employ facilitation, technology support, data collection and reporting, as well as handle the myriad logistical and administrative details needed for the initiative to function smoothly.
The Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be responsible for day-to-day management of the overall execution and progress of wPOWERs M&E program.
The WMI wPOWER Hub M & E officer will employ facilitation, technology support, data collection and reporting, as well as handle the myriad logistical and administrative details needed for the initiative to function smoothly.
The Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be responsible for day-to-day management of the overall execution and progress of wPOWERs M&E program.
S/he shall be under the direct
supervision of the Project Director.

- Develop, Manage and implement an information
technology (IT) performance-based monitoring system to ensure that wPOWER
hub targets are met
- In consultation with M & E consultant
develop tools for project monitoring and evaluation and regularly review
them for updates
- Ensure that the M&E databases are updated
routinely and systematically
- Ensure that the Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs) and guidelines regarding M&E for the wPOWER hub are developed
and updated where necessary.
- Lead the process of ensuring that the Key
performance Indicators reviews for the wPOWER hub are conducted regularly
- In collaboration with wPOWER hub team document
achievements of the project indicators against set performance targets
- Follow up with the wPOWER M & E consultant
and ensure timely preparation and implementation of baseline surveys,
Monitoring, impact evaluation as per standard operating procedures and
report writing.
- Ensure timely compilation of wPOWER and
relevant partners M & E reports
- Report regularly to the wPOWER hub team on all
matters related to M & E
- Provide monthly analytical feedback
(statistics) to the Project Director on M&E progress
- Report monthly and half-yearly on all project
activities in accordance with wPOWER & DOS procedures
- Assist the Project Officer in preparing DOS
reports
- Provide Project Officer with synthesis of
baseline surveys and monitoring reports in consultation with M & E
consultant and lessons learned from project interventions
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the
Project Director

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Education:
- University Degree preferably in Project
planning and management or related field.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in the design
and implementation of M&E/MIS in development projects implemented by
national/international NGOs/UN bodies/ Government;
- Experience in designing tools and strategies
for data collection, analysis and production of reports;
- Proven ICT skills, especially in the
development of MIS software using database software;
- Expertise in analyzing data using statistical
software;
- Strong training & facilitation skills.
- Understanding of spatial analytical skills
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in written and spoken English and
Swahili.
Qualifications:
- Education: University degree in Project
planning or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Experience in the area of clean energy technologies
and entrepreneurship will be an added advantage.
- Ability to demonstrate working experience in
M&E
- Knowledge and experience of monitoring U.S.
government funded projects an added advantage.
- Strong computer and written/oral
communications skills
- Ability to efficiently work in teams and coordinate between various stakeholders
