Founded in 1992, The Fred Hollows Foundation has been a driving force in the development and implementation of blindness prevention programs in some of the poorest and most isolated regions in the world. Currently operating in 19 countries throughout Africa, South Asia and South East Asia, The Foundation is working to end avoidable blindness.

Reporting to the program manager, you will participate in the development, implementation and monitoring & evaluation of The Fred Hollows Foundation Trachoma program activities in Kenya, supported by the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust.

Previous experience in program planning and implementation is essential. Your experience working for a development, government or community based organisation will be looked at favourably. 

In addition you can demonstrate your ability to cultivate key relationships - developing strategies and resources to influence, persuade and build the confidence of partners, program staff and other stakeholders. 

A demonstrated interest in public health is highly desirable.

To be successful in this role you must have:
  • 3+ years’ program coordination and implementation experience in an international development or community based organisation
  • Experience coordinating outcomes through partners, as well as the ability to work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The ability to interpret financial management data
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal English skills as well as Swahili
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Extensive domestic travel is required, including travel to remote locations. 

This position is a 3 year fixed- term contract.
