Job Purpose / Objective: The International Rescue Committee – Kenya Program
with funding from United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Center for
Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) implements the Partnership on AIDS (POA
Project), a HIV & AIDS Treatment and Prevention Project in Kakuma Refugee
Camp in Turkana County – North Rift region of Kenya
IRC is currently looking to hire a Data Clerk to support the program in data
entry and analysis.
The overall role of Data Clerk is to
ensure that all HIV Program data from field sites has been entered in the
respective programmatic databases, in a timely, correct and accurate fashion.
Under the supervision of the CCC/TB Clinical Officer, the Data Clerk will ensure data entered will subsequently be submitted to the HIS Officer for verification, analysis and reports generation.

Key Responsibilities
·
Timely and accurate entry of
programmatic data from the field on a monthly basis.
·
Maintain the EMR database by entering
new and updated patient information
·
Collate and review weekly and monthly
program data
·
Liaise with the HIS Officer in
analysis and generation of HIV monthly reports
·
Safe and confidential record keeping
and filing of program documents
·
Liaise with HIS Officer and
Supervisor to ensure availability of reporting tools at field level
·
Secure information by completing
database backups
·
Maintain a proper filing system for
storage of Monitoring, Reporting & Evaluation materials.
·
Update the program library with new
materials as they are received.
·
Any other duties as may be assigned
by supervisor/s.
Required Qualifications:
·
Diploma in IT, Computer Science,
Statistics, Health Records or other related field.
·
A minimum of 1 year experience in
handling health records, statistical data or population / demographic data or
information.
·
Excellent computer skills on Ms
Office applications especially Ms Word, Ms Excel and Ms Access. Ms PowerPoint.
·
Knowledge of data management
principles.
Required Experience &
Competencies:
·
Knowledge of Ministry of Health (MoH)
Data Tools is added advantage.
·
Participation in assessments,
surveys, research, censuses or other data collection or data management
capacity building exercises is an added advantage.
·
Knowledge of Data Analysis Softwares
e.g. Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS), Kenya Program Monitoring
System (KePMS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is added advantage.
·
Fluency in Somali or Turkana language
is an added advantage
·
