Job Title: Customer Service Representative

Educational Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
Work Experience

  • 5 years of relevant experience ideally from a shipping, logistics background.
  • Experience in Relocation and Household goods operations a plus.
Basic Skill Set
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).
  • Positive attitude and the ability to interact well with all levels in a diverse organization and with customers.
  • Must be able to operate independently and well under pressure.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks in an orderly, efficient manner.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Have excellent email writing skills, clear and concise but courteous expression.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Will be fully responsible for operations follow up and customer service for some of XLA accounts.
  • Do and review quoting for the accounts, make sure to negotiate the best rates from vendors.
  • Running freight coordination operations in general Cargo and Household goods.
  • Organizing deliveries and pickups, clearing operations along with clearing agent, making sure of fast invoicing and customer satisfaction.
  • Organizing booking with the shipping lines and airlines for all outbound shipments, based on received rates.
  • Organizing regular meetings with the clients to get feedback and understand ways to improve the service.
  • Responsible for managing front of the house operations-- taking client phone calls and walk-ins, reporting to clients on status of their shipments, and fielding communications with vendors, prospective vendors, the Kenyan Government…
  • Provide feedback to management on improvement of the operations.
  • Any other work tasks requested by the supervisor or XLA Management.
