- Propose an enterprise-aligned vision and
roadmap for BI capabilities and self-service tools.
- Manage BI analysts (BU and enterprise
analysts) and tool development/maintenance function.
- Oversee delivery of BI solutions to
enterprise, ensuring overall business needs are addressed.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders,
business function leaders and end users to identify and understand the
business needs for insight and intelligence, being sure to challenge,
where necessary, to ensure relevant data and analysis is conducted based
on business need and discuss BI opportunities, resourcing, capabilities,
BI requirements, and information needs.
- Producing relevant, accurate, meaningful,
timely BI reports, dashboards, and analysis based on business need,
including managing the work-flow and prioritization of the team.
- Build and support BI business cases then
document, implement, and provide ongoing support for BI portfolio of
applications as well as research and evaluate alternative solutions and
recommend most efficient/cost-effective technology and /or service
solution.
- Provide technical consulting and leadership in
identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies which
assist Bus/functions to meet their strategic objectives.
- Champion and rally the organization around BI
and educate senior non-IT executives on the value of BI and ensure that
business owns BI as well as educating others on the BI function's
importance and capabilities and providing Provide input into the broader
data intelligence vision and strategy
- Developing and implementing a program of
continuous improvement of BI processes through a cycle of analysis of
existing systems, processes, and tools, identifying areas for improvement,
and implementing high-impact changes, and getting feedback from internal
and external clients.
- Spearhead and introduce relevant BI and
Information Management processes, technologies and tools and ensure BI
tool best practices.
- Understand Key Performance Measures and
Indicators that drive company performance measurement, reporting, and
analytics across functions and understand how these metrics and measures
align and track against overall business strategies, goals and objectives.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A degree in computer science, mathematics, or
an IT related field is required.
- 5+ years of relevant experience which both
professional and management capabilities have been clearly demonstrated;
prior consulting experience desired.
- Experience in working with BI hardware,
software, and services vendors as well as a deep understanding of Business
Intelligence in the banking space, Dimensional Modeling and experience
with one or more Data Modeling and BI tools and the ability to negotiate
and structure contracts favorable to the organization.
- Experienced in developing reporting solutions
with SSRS, Excel, Report Builder, including SSRS native mode and
SP-integrated deployments; SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and SQL
Server Integration Services (SSIS) including developing OLAP solutions and
ETL solutions.
- Experience in designing, architecting and
implementing a relational data warehouse using Microsoft SQL Server
Technologies, dashboard design, development & deployment using
technologies with excel and Excel Services, PerformancePoint Server, and
Power BI.
- Experience as a BI team or project lead, with
an aptitude and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring others on BI and
related technologies.
- Excellent analytical, proficient communication
and presentation skills coupled with Leadership skills, including
strategic planning as well as management skills with including execution
focus.
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability
to logically analyze complex requirements, processes, systems and
experience with ability in designing solutions encompassing dimensional
models.
- Comfortable dealing with uncertainty by
creating structure and prioritizing effectively, with the ability to
manage complexity and several projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented, with a willingness and
aptitude to explore, understand and troubleshoot datasets and data
inconsistencies as well as a deep understanding of how data and BI can

- Define and execute data management strategy

- Direct the company-wide data management
technology strategy, to include information access and retrieval,
aggregation, and data warehousing technologies.
- Formulate strategic partnerships with
different Business Units/functions to communicate the data management
vision, goals, and objectives and obtain buy-in at all levels of the
company.
- Establish partnerships with industry to
uncover and share leading practices in data management and inject them in
the company to facilitate continuous improvement while staying abreast of
industry and regulatory developments impacting company-wide data and
related technology and operations.
- Carry out the management and administration of
the Enterprise Data Management function and also leverage the
organization's data and information assets to inform the strategic
direction of the company and have the total overview of what is going on
within the Bank related to data and represent this as a strategic business
asset at executive level.
- Responsible for overall corporate data
governance, to include leading data governance boards, defining, and
ensuring adherence to data quality and integrity standards and policies
collaboratively with the IT organization.
- Craft and manage standard data operating
procedures, data accountability policies, data quality standards, data
privacy and ethical policies as well as being able to understand how to
combine different data sources within the Bank with each other, keep an
updated data dictionary and stay abreast of domain data dictionaries
- Interact regularly with internal and external
data suppliers, information users, and executives to promote leading
practices with respect to the management, protection, and application of
information as well as lead joint business, operations, and IT efforts to
define data integrity and transformation business rules, standards, and
policies.
- Accountable for cross-business data standards,
policies, data management processes and governance, and all related data
technology to include data warehouses and business intelligence
applications.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A degree in statistics, data sciences or
related quantitative fields is preferred (or equivalent on-the-job
experience).
- A minimum 8 years of business experience, with
5 years being in a Data Governance business environment.
- Experience in leading major information
management programs in key business areas and in operationalizing data
governance and data Quality;
- Familiarity with the major data analytics solutions
and products available in the market; Like Oracle, Informatica, IBM
InfoSphere, Pentaho, SAP, SAS, Talend as well as expertise or at least
familiarity with big data solutions such as Hadoop, MapReduce and/or HBase
and different modelling techniques such as data modelling and/or
predictive modelling.
- Expertise in creating and deploying best
practices and methodologies and knowledge about managing and leading
technical data analytics teams across multiple departments.
- Knowledge and experience in building and
supporting data analytics teams across the organization and developing
business cases for technical projects with a lot of uncertainties.
- Strong co-ordination and project management
skills to handle complex projects.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.

Analytics, the Data Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining,
testing, evaluating and implementing data solutions and data architecture
design.

Specifically, the successful
jobholder will be required to:
- Implement data architecture design, perform
any restructuring required, and review dataset implementations performed
by other data engineers.
- Design, create, interpret and manage large
datasets to achieve business goals as well ad Process and update third
party data sources.
- Design, build, and maintain various parts of
the data warehousing and reporting infrastructure, including requirements
gathering, ETL development, data modeling, metric establishment, reporting
production, and data visualization.
- Gather and process raw, unstructured data at
scale (including writing scripts, web scraping, calling APIs, writing SQL
queries, etc). Into a form suitable for analysis then consolidate into the
data warehouse in order to perform Business Intelligence and advanced
analysis.
- Conduct performance tuning to be able to
optimize the application of data across all layers.
- Evaluate datasets for accuracy and quality
using statistical data quality procedures, software, or test-driven
approaches that ensure quality assurance and solve any issues which may
arise.
- Perform data updates, indexing, and
maintenance in application database; as well as maintain data files in
both hard copy and electronic versions.
- Improve data foundational procedures,
guidelines and standards and develop best practices for data management,
maintenance, reporting and security.
- Work with Business Customers to understand
business requirements and implement solutions and with business owners to
develop key business questions and to build datasets that answer those
questions.
- Help implement data management projects and
support business decisions with ad hoc analysis when needed.
- Provide self-serve analytical solutions to
users to analyze medium to large datasets and run mathematical models
without need of IT resources.
Skills, Competencies and Experience
The successful candidate will be
required to have the following skills and competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or
software engineering from a recognized university.
- 3 to 5 years of applied data experience.
- Expert knowledge in different (NoSQL or RDBMS)
databases such as MongoDB or Redis.
- Experience with Data warehousing architecture
and data modeling best practices, including performance tuning techniques.
- Exposure to one or more ETL tools and a solid
understanding of ETL pipelines, including functional testing and data
source alerting.
- Advanced skills in a scripting language such
as Python/Java/Scala with ability to tune Hadoop solutions to improve
performance and end-user experience
- Excellent Problem solving skills with passion
for leveraging data to drive significant business impact.
