The approach of PharmAccess has helped shape the agenda for health financing and delivery, as evidenced by recognitions by the UN, the G20, the World Economic Forum and the OECD. 

PharmAccess has offices in Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Namibia, Ghana and the Netherlands.
 
PharmAccess is the implementing partner of the Health Insurance Fund (HIF) which is a foundation based in the Netherlands that supports private health insurance to low-income groups in Sub-Saharan Africa. 

The HIF received funding from the Dutch government to set up community health insurance schemes in four countries in Africa.
 
Since 2009, PharmAccess has initiated several insurance schemes in Kenya. Since 2014 PharmAccess has further developed Mobile Health programs. 

PharmAccess will be expanding the scope of its demand-side financing and Mobile Health activities in Kenya. 

The organization therefore seeks to recruit a Project Officer for the Kenya office, based in Nairobi.
 
Job Description: Under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager, the Project Officer will perform project administration tasks which include report creation, data collection, research, file management, and meetings preparations and reporting. 

More specifically, the Project Officer will perform the following tasks:
  • Support the development of projects framework and work plan;
  • Conduct project research and data collection;
  • Support in the monitoring of project implementation and budget according to the work plan;
  • Prepare progress financial reports on projects;
  • Exchange of official correspondence related to the project activities;
  • Prepare documentation for discussions and briefing sessions;
  • Prepare and arrange key meetings; respond to routine requests for information; prepare minutes of the meetings;
  • Collect, register and maintain information on project activities by reviewing reports and through first hand sources;
  • Carry out project monitoring visits in the field;
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, both within PharmAccess and external partners;
  • Undertake other assignments that the Senior Project Manager and/or the Health Plans Director may deem necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • University degree in relevant social science discipline;
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in project management and/or public administration
  • Education and/ or experience in marketing communications will be an added advantage
  • Experience in proposal & report writing
  • Flexible attitude to work on different assignments and carry out frequent field visits
  • Excellent communication skills and good knowledge of English
  • Computer skills, good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and Internet
