Job Specification:
 We are looking for a project accountant responsible to ensure all transactions are posted appropriately and timely financial reports are generated. 


The project Accountant will also offer supportive role in internal controls to the project team on all their financial needs and will ensure compliance to company regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the finance manager and will be responsible for the day to day financial activities of the EU project.
  • Ensure all accounting procedures are compliant to EU regulations.
  • Ensure timely, quality and accurate financial reporting to the finance manager and enforcing the application of proper financial controls within EU guidelines.
  • Responsible for timely daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly reports to analyze project performance in accordance to financial guidelines.
  • Prepares management reporting by collecting, analyzing and accurately summarizing data and trends.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable financial records, in both hard and electronic format.
  • Enter accounting data from cheques, receipts, bank transfers and deposits using appropriate software.
  • Maintenance of an up to date asset register clearly capturing depreciation costs.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document project transactions.
  • Facilitating internal and external audits in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Oversee accurate registration, coding and invoice processing for payment ensuring that all invoices are approved in accordance with the Company delegation of authority limits.
  • Ensure vendor payments are achieved within the agreed contractual payment terms.
  • Generate aging and other vendor reports as required.
  • Filing the statutory returns.
  • Prepare month end accrual journals.
  • Maintain accounting records and reconciliation controls of approved budgets.
  • Assist in preparation of budgets with other departmental heads and summarizing the same to involve the whole company.
Educational and Professional Requirements
  • A minimum of CPA 2 and above, any other relevant training will be an added advantage
  • Degree in finance/accounting will be an added advantage
  • At least 4 years experience in a similar position/responsibilities
  • Experience using Telly accounting software will be an added advantage
  • Have an understanding of POS systems.
