Organizational Context and Scope: Under the overall supervision of the Regional
Health Assessments Coordinator for Sub-Saharan Africa and the direct supervision
of the Head of Data Processing and Mobile Unit, the incumbent will gather data,
encode, maintain, update required information accurately in the MHD Databases,
as well as generating reports and coordinating processes and procedures with
relevant units within and outside MRF Nairobi.
In particular, he/she will carry out
the following essential duties:
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Print DS forms from either hard copies or on
PDF for transmission for new approvals and re-medicals.
- Assist in data entry of DS forms including to
MiMOSA when required.
- Data reconciliation, data quality control and
timely reporting including CDC TB indicators for the TB Treatment Module.
- Encoding of data and information, update the
PDMS database, and generate regular and ad-hoc reports
- Maintain and update the Incidents and Events
Databases.
- Coordinate with responsible colleague the
timely updating of the quality control of all X-ray re-reading reports in
databases and generate monthly reports.
- Update MiMOSA for “mailout” of cleared DS
forms that are returned to RSC and generate the related list
- To verify data entry of Canadian, Australian
in eMedical and in MIMOSA.
- To enter data from all other resettlement
countries including UK gateway and other resettlement countries in MIMOSA.
- To enter PDMS report in MIMOSA

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Working under the direct supervision
of Head of Mobile and Planning Unit and the overall supervision of the Regional
Health Assessments Coordinator for Sub- Saharan Africa, the incumbent will
carry out the following duties and responsibilities:-
- Perform migration health assessments (medical
exams) and completes related medical documentation of migrants referred
for migration health assessment in accordance with the resettlement
countries’ technical instructions and the IOM Migration Health Assessment
Guidelines;
- Provide technical supervision and monitoring
of IOM health personnel to ensure that the following activities are
performed in accordance with the technical requirements of the
resettlement countries such as: medical case registration, migration
health assessments, medical forms transmission, medical treatment and
follow-up programs, data processing and management, pre-embarkation
medical examination and report;
- Refer patients to specialists for treatment as
maybe required;
- Administer treatment and immunizations as per
the receiving countries’ requirements;
- Perform pre-departure and pre-embarkation
medical checks on all refugee migrants departing under IOM auspices,
making sure they are fit to travel;
- Ensure timely, accurate and complete reporting
of all activities on the predeparture (examinations, treatment,
immunization), as per IOM standards and as per the country of resettlement
requirements;
- Implement quality control standards and
ensures confidentiality of individual health information;

Education and Experience
- Diploma in Nursing from an accredited
institution with valid Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) Practice License as
a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of 4 years work experience in Clinical
Nursing.
- Mature individual, able to work independently,
effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and
professional backgrounds at all levels.
- Capable of working under stressful and
difficult conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and
confidentiality in performing responsibilities.
- Training and experience in TB, STDs, other
communicable diseases and migration health is considered an asset.
- Previous work experience with an international
organization and NGOs dealing with refugees would be strong advantage.
- Computer literate on Microsoft Word, Excel and
Access.
Languages
Required
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and
Kiswahili
