JKUAT seeks to recruit suitable candidates to fill the following vacant positions in the Department of Zoology and the School of Communication and Development Studies:
 
A. Department of Zoology

1. Senior Lecturer

Grade 13

Requirements:
 
Applicants must;
  • Possess a PhD in a the following fields: Animal Physiology, Fisheries, Environment Sciences, Applied Biology, Entomology, Parasitology, Genetics and Ecology
  • Have five (5) years teaching/research experience
  • Have successfully supervised at least three (3) Masters students or one (1) PhD student
  • Have published three (3) papers in peer referred journals or three (3) chapters in a University level book or one book since last promotion
All applicants must be actively affiliated to an appropriate professional body as well as be in good standing with such professional bodies.
 
2. Lecturer

B. School of Communication and Development Studies
 
JKUAT seeks to recruit suitable candidates to fill the following vacant positions in the School of Communication and Development Studies.

1. Studio Technician

Grade 7

1 Position
 
Requirements:
 
Applicants must;
  • Possess a Diploma in Mass Communication or Studio Technical Operations from a recognized institution. Those with a degree in Journalism or Mass Communication will have an added advantage.
  • Have two (2) years’ experience in the relevant field
  • Have proven interest in digital media
  • Possess Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have the ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment and meet deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Working directly under the Dean, School of Communication and Development Studies, successful candidates shall perform the following tasks:
  • Setting up, testing and operating studio equipment.
  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing studio equipment
  • Advising the department on the purchase/hiring of suitable equipment
  • Maintaining studio inventory
  • Assisting in supervision of students’ practical sessions
