To complement our field office we
therefor are seeking a competent Finance Officer for our Nairobi office.
The field office in Nairobi gives
service to partners of PMU in Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and
Zimbabwe.

As Finance Officer, you will work at our field office in Nairobi to support the Field Coordinator in efforts to provide support to partner organizations in terms of financial and putting in place structures, management and control of the PMU-supported projects.

Finance Officer – Nairobi
As Finance Officer, you will work at our field office in Nairobi to support the Field Coordinator in efforts to provide support to partner organizations in terms of financial and putting in place structures, management and control of the PMU-supported projects.
The Finance Officer will continuously
coordinate your work with PMU headquarter in Stockholm, Sweden.
Key Responsibilities:

- In close liaison with the Field Coordinator
implement monitoring of programs and projects at partner level in the
region with a specific focus on Finance and Administration
- Provide support to the Field Coordinator do
the preparation of the annual overall management/activity plans for the
region, with a focus in finance aspects of the programmes
- Implement compliance audit, project audits in
the region including coordination with auditors
- Carry out risk analysis including management
of risks from partner organizations and due diligence;
- Manage the Partner Institutional capacity
strengthening in respect of administrative activities; for instance;
support in development of systems to, check for compliance, anti-corruption
training among others
- Timely submission of monthly and annual
financial reports; maintenance of proper books of accounts and an up to
date register of assets.
- Ensure efficient payments and disbursements
according to approved policy and procedures
- Review budgets, financial reports and
financial statements including management letters from Partners. Follow up
on issues raised by auditors in the management letter from partners to
ensure resolution
- Maintain up to date registration of PMU
offices; take charge of safety, custody and maintenance of office,
computer & accessories, furniture and equipment
Key Skills and Educational
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business related field
(Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Arts) or other relevant field.
- Accounting professional qualification (CPA,
ACCA) or other comparable/equivalent qualification.
- At least 5 years of proven work experience in
financial management, book-keeping, systems development, management and
control
- Knowledge in international development
cooperation/humanitarian aid
- Excellent ability to communicate in English in
speech and writing. Additional language skills, in addition to the native
language, is an advantage
- Previous work experience from any of the
countries in the region is an advantage
- Previous work experience in programs or
projects with support from international institutional donors such as
ECHO, EuropeAid, UN and other INGOs is an advantage
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Power
Point) and work with databases is an advantage
- Previous experience of project administration
and management, communication and advocacy is an advantage
