About Agrics Kenya: Agrics is a social enterprise initiated by ICS Africa in 2011 and works with rural farmers in Western Kenya. 

The inspiration behind this social venture is the realization that enhanced food security and increased income at household level can make a big difference to rural small holding farmers in terms of improved quality of life. 

Agrics main objective is to increase the smallholder farmer farm income through input credit, financing, value chain development and training.


Agrics Kenya currently works with about 13,000 farmers and aims to reach 100,000 smallholder households by 2020 through administering quality farm inputs and modern agronomic practices in Western Kenya.

This position will be based in Kakamega.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for:
  • Receive and verify invoices & requisitions for goods and services;
  • Verify that transactions comply with financial procedures;
  • Data entry of invoices for payment in the accounting system;
  • Prepare payment vouchers and process cheques;
  • Manage the weekly cheque signing process;
  • Once cheques are signed, record cheque payment in the system;
  • Prepare the creditors ageing summary;
  • Maintain status of all cheques paid;
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls and carrying out database backups;
  • • Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements;
  • Complies with legal requirements and enforces adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions;
  • To undertake other duties as assigned by management.
Desired Skills / Qualifications:
  • Degree or diploma in Accounting or other related field with at least CPA II qualification;
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as an Accountant;
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or any operating and accounting system and Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook.
