Position: Accounts Assistant
Location: Headquarters, Nairobi
Responsible To: Finance Manager
Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Finance Manager The Accounts Assistant will support the Finance data processing by the preparation of documents of original entry, initial date entry and management of the document filling process.
Specific Responsibilities
- Prepare invoices for payment, obtaining
approvals on various requisitions raised.
- Maintain filing systems for accounting
documents and vouchers.
- Process and account for any expense claims.
- Handle and maintain petty cash
- Summarize current financial status by
collecting information, preparing balance sheet, Profit and loss statement
and other reports as directed by the supervisor.
- Perform bank reconciliations for office
accounts, analyse and also prepare monthly review
- of bank reconciliations of accounts.
- Ensure proper files, both hard and soft
copies, are maintained to support all transactions processed.
- Archiving financial files.
- Undertake any other tasks which may be
assigned by the supervisor.
Supervision and Collaboration
- The Accounts Assistant will be under the
direct supervision of the …………….
- S/He will work closely with other colleagues
in the HR, IT, Collections, Operations, Sales and Marketing departments.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting
option)/Business Administration
- Professional qualification: Certified Public
Accountants (CPA I),
- At least 2 years general accounting experience
preferably in the financial sector.
- Computer literacy: Knowledge of Excel
spreadsheet is essential.
