Security Assistant III

KNEC Scale EC 6 

One Post

The Officer at this level will report to a Senior Security Officer in Administration Division.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Undertake security patrols at various designated locations;
  • Monitor and report critical incidents and implement security risk assessment procedures;
  • Investigate all security incidences and liaising with other security agencies;
  • Supervision of contracted security personnel.
Requirements for Appointment:
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C or equivalent;
  • Three (3) months basic security training from a recognized institution;
  • Must possess a valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police Service;
  • Must have a first Aid Certificate and Fire Marshall training;
  • Evidence of proficiency and knowledge in Computer Applications.

Research Assistant II

KNEC Scale EC 8

Three Posts

The successful candidates will be reporting to a Head of Section in Research Division. 

This is the entry position in the Research Department.
 
Duties and Responsibilities: The Officer at this level will be expected to perform defined research tasks such as data collection, analysis, draft proposals and compile reports.
 
Requirements for Appointment:
  • Bachelors Degree in Education specializing in Mathematics / Statistics / Economics from a recognized institution Plus a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C+ or its equivalent;
  • Evidence of being well grounded in theory and application of educational research, assessment and psychometrics will be an added advantage;
  • Evidence of proficiency and knowledge in Computer Applications

Manuscripts Secretary III

KNEC Scale EC 9 

Two Posts

The Manuscripts Secretary III will be reporting to a Head of Section in the Manuscripts Division.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • An officer at this level will be expected to receive manuscripts from subject officers, type, typeset, proof read, design and format the document;
  • Effect changes/corrections as directed and handle machine copies confidentially and maintain security in storage and retrieval;
  • Capture and bank pre-tested items received in the Division for future use;
  • Assist in the coordination of specific technical and administrative initiatives in the Division.

Requirements for Appointment:
  • At least a Higher Diploma in Secretarial Management plus a Diploma in Education; 
  • OR Bachelors Degree in Education in Secretarial or Business Studies from a recognized institution; 
  • OR Bachelors Degree in relevant discipline plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Secretarial Studies and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education;
  • Relevant experience for at least three (3) years;
  • Evidence of proficiency and knowledge in Computer Applications;
  • KCSE mean grade C+ and above or equivalent qualifications.

Corporate Secretary

KNEC Scale EC 14

One Post
 
The Corporate Secretary will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will head the Corporate Secretarial Services Division.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Advise and facilitate the effective provision of legal services as well as professional advice on governance issues to the Board and Management committees;
  • Provide corporate secretarial services to the Board and Management committees;
  • Implement Board’s policies and strategies as regards the legal function and advise the Board and Management on any legal implications likely to arise as a result of their decisions and actions;
  • Keep custody of the Council assets Register, Corporation Seal and all legal documents and ensure that they conform to statutory requirements;
  • Monitor changes in corporate governance, relevant legislations and the regulatory environment and take appropriate action;
  • Prepare and interpret contracts for and on behalf of the Council including terms of engagement with private legal firms as well as undertaking arbitration and out- of-court settlements;
  • Facilitate orientation, training, development and appraisal for Board members, Council Secretary/Chief Executive Officer and staff in Corporate Services Division;
  • Prepare and implement the budget, procurement plan and the Division’s performance management system;
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience required:
  • Bachelor of laws (LLB) degree and advocate of the High Court with a current legal practicing certificate;
  • CPS (K) and holder of current practicing certificate;
  • Masters degree in Law (LLM), or Public/Business Administration or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
  • Not less than six years (6) work experience in a similar position in a large Public or Private sector Institution;
  • Must meet the requirements of chapter six of the constitution
  • Demonstrate Knowledge of use of computer applications
