We wish to recruit a highly competent, proactive and self driven person to fill the position of: 


Project Manager - Strategic Partnership 

As part of the Vision Fund’s Leadership Team, the main purpose of the job is to supervise all lending functions of the institution at the strategic partnership level, they will oversee strategic partnership project including operations, business development, systems and processes in line with the company overall operations strategy and within the local and World Vision International regulations. 

The position is stationed in Nairobi and reports to the Operations Director, with occasional local travel 


Specific areas of responsibility: 
  • Implement the agreed operational plan focusing on increasing the outreach of the microfinance institution through supporting the strategic partner to open the agreed new areas of operation and development of new credit products; 
  • Support the modification and refinement of the exiting credit products; 
  • Support the development of new market oriented products such as microcredit, SME, micro-saving, fund transfer and micro-insurance; 
  • Implement the efficient and effective portfolio management to ensure the optimal use of company resources 
  • Analyse the business environment and make recommendations on the development of new products and enhance existing products to grow the institution’s customer base and outreach 
  • Develop strategies to minimize customer complaints and suggest ways of managing the public image of the institution 
  • Supervise the VFK staff that are assigned to work with the strategic partner and provide them with adequate support to make sure that collections are always on time and that the quality of the portfolio remains excellent; 
  • Prepare monthly and other periodic operational reports for the Operations Director and Senior management team 
  • Lead the delinquency management strategy, including analysis reviews, legal actions against customers and employee when appropriate 
The ideal candidate 
  • MUST hold a relevant social science or Business related degree and or master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Economics,
  • a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in microfinance field operations, 
  • extensive and proven track record in financial institution administration, operations and procedures, advanced computer skills, 
  • fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills, 
  • excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in people management, 
  • ability to work in a challenging environment with poor infrastructure and human capacities, 
  • highly motivated with a strong interest in development and social issues 

Senior Business Analyst 

As part of the Vision Fund’s Leadership Team, the main purpose of the job is to review, analyze and occasionally modify systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support application systems. 

The incumbent will consult with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify business objectives and requirements. 

The incumbent will also be responsible for writing documentation to describe custom configuration of applications and operating procedures in liaison with 3rd party application development consultants in line with the company overall operations strategy and within the local and World Vision International regulations. 


The position is stationed in Nairobi and reports to the ICT Director 

Specific areas of responsibility: 
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing systems. 
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the IT team to discuss progress and issues to be resolved, and report progress on a weekly basis to the ICTD 
  • Coordinate application development for multiple projects 
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements. 
  • Provide programming for some in-house IT projects 
  • Assist in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for all new development projects. 
  • Updating and amending existing databases 
  • Setting up and testing new database and data handling systems 
  • Monitoring database efficiency 
  • Sustaining the security and integrity of data 
  • Creating query definitions that allow data to be extracted 
  • Analyze data contained in the corporate database and identify data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems and implement solutions. 
  • Analyze, present and communicate data through data warehouse and data mining tools. 
  • Write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide 
  • Produce technical documentation for new and existing applications 
  • Develops the documentation for processes and ensures the overall scope, quality and effectiveness of the documentation continues to grow 
The ideal candidate 
  • MUST hold a Minimum of Bachelor degree in in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Information Technology, 
  • Should have a minimum of 4 years of technology experience with hands-on technical roles in the field and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, 
  • extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications, 
  • technical experience with systems networking, databases, Web development, and user support, 
  • technical certification in IT disciplines or technology, 
  • good background in Data Base design in Microsoft SQL and MySQL, 
  • good background in Microsoft .NET, Java, PHP, HTML and other web applications development languages, 
  • good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project, 
  • working knowledge of UNIX based operating systems and T24 would be an added advantage.

Risk & Compliance Manager 
 
As part of the Vision Fund’s Leadership Team, the main purpose of the job is to ensure the day-to-day management of the risk related activities, coordinating, monitoring and facilitating compliance with existing laws, rules and regulations in risk management in line with the company overall operations strategy and within the local and World Vision International regulations. 

The position is stationed in Nairobi and reports to the Chief Executive Officer, with occasional local travel 


Specific areas of responsibility: 
  • Develops annual risk management plan that outlines the activities to be undertaken and submit for approval to Operations Director 
  • Develop check list to conduct follow up the implementation of risk mgt. framework of the institution; 
  • Conducts risk assessment on the company business situations, economic trends, future customer needs, company past performance, its key assets and areas of weaknesses and strength 
  • Conducts risk mgt. strategies trainings and awareness programs; 
  • Develops risk management principles, processes, methodologies and standards and monitors their proper implementation; 
  • Calculates the degree of risks involved owing to changes the major management decisions 
  • Assesses solvency using appropriate financial analysis tools 
  • Identifies risks inherent in MFI’s business and measure and prioritized identified risks and develop adequate risk mitigating factors; 
  • Performs risk assessment on at least significant risk exposure of VF MFI and proposes risk management strategies, for deliberation by the management or the Board; 
  • Ensure implementation of audit findings across the branch network; 
  • Ensure branch compliance with established credit policies and procedures; 
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements; 
  • Make recommendations to mitigate risk of any new products and/or target market segments 
The ideal candidate MUST hold a first degree in Business Administration/Management/Economics/Accounting (MBA holders are preferred), must have at least 10 years of working experience out of which 4 years in middle level management position in a Micro Finance Organization, Retail banking or Enterprise lending institutions, Knowledge of the VF- MFI’s policy, procedures and overall strategic direction, determined personality with initiative, perseverance and the ability to motivate and manage a team.
