Vacancy: Senior Credit Officer

Summary:
 Our Client is a steadily growing commercial bank in Kenya with a vision of increasing value for customers, shareholders, employees and communities. 

The Bank is looking for a competent, professional and experienced individual to take up the position of a Senior Credit Officer.
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate lending policies and procedures, establishes loan pricing to ensure desired loan growth and maximum profitability
  • Analyze and evaluate the demand, market segmentation and competitive situation for the target clients of credit products to identify opportunity in the market for new products
  • Oversee the preparation of reports of loans and accounts that have outstanding (unpaid) amounts
  • Management of Securities to ensure they are complete and legally enforceable
  • Provides management and guidance to credit analysts, and credit officers under his/her supervision
  • Undertake renewals & or reviews of overdrafts, temporary overdraft and any other limit including facilities from trade finance e.g.; letters of credit, bank guarantees
  • Ensure that an acceptable level of credit administration support is provided to all business units
  • Ensure that approved loans and other facilities are timely and accurately disbursed in system.
  • Calculation of interests and marking various limits in system as per management approval.
  • Ensure proper filing of records for all loans, Temporary overdrafts and credit risk departmental documentation disbursed and other credit related records including Head Office correspondences.
  • Ensure that sanction conditions are adhered to before actual maintenance, verification and disbursement of loans
  • Assisting in preparation of Statutory /management bank reports in accordance to the CBK prudential guidelines.
Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Minimum 7 yrs – working experience in credit department
  • Relevant degree from a recognized institution
  • Good customer relationship management
  • Good communication and inter personal skills
  • Thorough knowledge in Credit documentation and processes
  • Thorough knowledge of CBK statutory reports and prudential guidelines
