We
are seeking qualified and self motivated individuals who can work on a recall
and on short notice basis as need arises, between 21st July 2015 – 30th
September 2015.
We
shall select enumerators who reside and have previously worked with the local
communities in the following respective study areas.
- Cluster
1 Machakos, Nairobi, Thika, Nakuru – Enumerators To be
based in Nairobi
- Cluster
2 Kericho – Enumerators To be based in Kericho
- Cluster
3 Eldoret, Kitale – Enumerators To be based in Eldoret
or Kitale
- Cluster
4 Narok – Enumerators To be based in Narok
The Enumerators shall be selected based on the following
qualifications;
- Experience
in conducting interviews on sensitive topics for research purposes
preferably in Environmental and Social Assessments, Agriculture and
Agribusiness, Rural Finance and Markets, Gender & Social Studies;
- Past
experience in conducting socio-economic and environmental studies especially
within poor and rural communities;
- Good
written and verbal skills in English and Kiswahili as well as the
respective local language;
- Undergraduate
level or degree in Environmental Science/Studies, Social Sciences,
Agricultural Economics or Agribusiness Management, Community Development,
Statistics or any relevant discipline from a recognized institution;
Undergraduates still studying (out of Session) but are in their advanced
stages of study shall also be considered.
- Experience
in qualitative & quantitative data collection and a demonstration of
good interviewing & data entry;
- Extensive
experience in qualitative data recording and a demonstration of skilled
interviewing, expert note-taking, high quality transcription and
translation;
- Good
working knowledge of office computer applications preferably MS Word and
MS Excel. Additional knowledge of any quantitative and qualitative
statistical package will be an added advantage (e.g. SPSS and Nvivo);
- Familiarity
with the use of mobile phones and PDAs for data collection, photography
and recording.
