Job Title: IT Administrator, East Africa

Reports to: Head of Information Systems, WECA 
 
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
 
Purpose of the role: IT Administrator is primarily responsible for ensuring smooth running of East Africa IT infrastructure while making sure end users are adequately supported
 
Role deliverables:    
  • Implementing IT systems TNS RMS East Africa offices, working closely with TNS WECA Head of Information Systems
  • Managing IT Infrastructure (including all workstations, laptops, printers, servers, video conferencing, Telephony and other communication facilities).
  • Ensure IT users receive adequate IT support and training to effectively use IT systems and facilities
  • Administration of servers and users
  • Business Continuity through implementation of Disaster Recovery plans including backups and offsite backup recovery
  • Supplier management to ensure efficient and cost effective procurement and delivery of IT systems and services
  • Management of IT assets
  • Ensure dissemination and adherence to WPP, Kantar and TNS IT policies by TNS IT users
  • Implementing and upholding IT SOX Controls as guided by WPP
  • Developing relationships and communication with all users regarding IT.
  • Supporting Client Service teams on Client delivery systems
  • Supporting Operations on Electronic Data Collection systems including CAPI and CATI
Scope of the role:    
  • TNS RMS East Africa Ltd Offices
  • Lead EA IT Team
  • Client contact: Extensive contact with internal client group & external suppliers.
  • Supplier management
Qualification and Key Skills    
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/Computer Engineering or equivalent education
  • Minimum two years of network/systems administration including working knowledge of Cisco networks, Microsoft Server and Exchange environments, Microsoft Desktop platforms. IP Telephony knowledge desired
  • Microsoft certification in Windows 2003 Server and XP Desktop environments or more recent.
  • Good understanding of network/systems security including Antivirus
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work long hours/weekends when required.
  • Demonstrably effective at providing timely, concise, audience - appropriate information orally and in writing.
