following position:
Finance Manager
Reporting to the Project Manager, the
Finance Manager will be charged with a strategic role of providing financial
advice to management to enable formation of sound business decisions.
Specific Responsibilities
- Managing the company’s financial accounting,
monitoring and reporting systems
- Ensuring financial reports comply with
Financial Reporting Standards, and other statutory requirements
- Preparing and managing department budget and
review the consolidated budgets for approval
- Working closely with IT department to ensure
the accounting and reporting system remains effective and relevant at all
times
- Developing and implementing financial
management mechanisms that will reduce and mitigate financial risks, and
cut costs
- Participate in project financial appraisals
and viability exercise
- Developing, proposing and implementing
effective funding options for the company
- Manage liquidity for profit optimization and
smooth business operations
- Approving payments and reviewing bank
reconciliations to ensure accuracy of underlying records and prevent loss
- Develop and maintain external relationships
with various relevant stakeholders such as financial institutions,
external auditors, and government
- Researching and reporting on factors
influencing business performance
- In charge of staff in the finance department
- Overseeing the extension of credit to
customers
- Any other duty as may be assigned by
management from time to time, and relating to the roles of the profession
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or
any other relevant discipline
- ACCA, CPA (K), or any other relevant
professional qualification
- At least ten (10) years experience in a busy
commercial environment, with five (5) years being in a senior position
- Knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards
- Excellent oral and written communication
skills
- Strong IT skills with hands on experience in
the various accounting systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to
detail
- Ability to multi-task and work in a
challenging fast -paced environment
- Maturity, professionalism, and a high level of
discretion
- Independent worker and analytical thinker with
ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems
- A team leader/ player
- High level of confidentiality and integrity
- Knowledge of French language will be a plus
