The role
As Relationship Manager, Institutional Banking, the role holder will own and drive the Institutional Banking Proposition through the development and overseeing the execution of strategic account plans aimed at growing profitability through cross-selling of products and services to the institutional banking segment i.e. Government (Central & County), State Corporation and Agencies, Religious organizations & NGO’s, Education & Health institutions and Financial & Non-Bank financial institutions.

- Oversee the development and implementation of
strategic initiatives for marketing and selling institutional banking
products with a focus on growing business volumes, customer base and
income.
- Develop and implement initiatives for
maintaining strong relationships with existing customers as well as
develop new relationships that guarantee a portfolio of corporate
customers.
- Effectively and proactively manage the cost of
funds by mobilizing deposits from institutional banking clients as well as
developing and implementing initiatives that bring down the cost of doing
business within institutional banking department.
- Spearhead the formulation and implementation
of strategies, systems, policies and processes that guide and ensure
delivery of institutional banking business.
- Spearhead the development of products,
solutions and services that are tailored to meet institutional banking
client needs and requirements.
- Demonstrate executive presence and authority
over institutional banking matters in order to instill confidence in
clients and influence outcomes

- A Bachelor’s degree in a business related
field with at least 5 years’ experience in a banking environment in
relationship management role
- Must have worked in team oriented environments
and with good relationship management skills
- Excellent planning and organization skills as
well as be an excellent communicator with ability to set and meet
stretching targets and strict deadline
- Result driven with a track record of
demonstrable networking, selling and influencing skills as well as ability
to identify new opportunities
- Demonstrate a solid awareness in operational
risk and quality in driving service excellence
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the
ability to build long term, high quality and trusted relationships

We are looking for a Product Manager to champion utilization of Transactional Banking solutions as the preferred delivery channel in the bank for corporate customers.

The purpose of the role is to define
the vision and the strategic direction and own the full end to end process, of
a complex product portfolio or transactional Banking solution that meets
customers’ needs.

- Drive and deliver exceptional sales
performance by identifying and meeting customer needs through selling
& cross selling of Transaction Banking Solutions and other bank
services.
- Ensure that the bank’s interests are properly
supported and represented within the transactional banking product plans.
- Act as a senior source of professional
expertise and have principal accountability for the strategic direction
and implementation of the transactional banking portfolio of products
ensuring that they are fit for purpose and distributed and delivered
properly to customers. This includes responsibility for product excellence
for the end to end process and product management and development.
- Own and be accountable for the revenue and
cost drivers and the product performance for Transaction Banking products.
- Determine pricing, sales and marketing
strategies, ensuring that benefits in terms of customer satisfaction and
financial targets are realized.
- Deliver initiatives with partners and
stakeholders that continuously improve products and processes, achieving
product excellence for the bank’s customers.
- Work closely with Business Segment RMs and
Business Bankers at the branch to fully embed Transaction Banking
solutions onto the business, taking into account industry and economic
information, market intelligence, customer/sector behaviour, emerging
technology and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the overall growth of the Bank’s
NFI and transactional customer base.
- Build strong relationships with key and
diverse stakeholders to manage their multiple needs and to ensure the
delivery of customer solutions. Support customer pipeline development
- Provide deal review and structuring expertise
to ensure that new transactions are operationally workable, consistent
with Transaction Banking strategy and acceptable from a risk and return
perspective.
- Review, evaluate and manage risks, to ensure
adherence to the bank’s risk framework and wider industry regulations.

- Bachelor’s degree in a business related field
and any other relevant Professional qualifications.
- At least four (4) years banking experience out
of which 2 years should be in Cash Management & in Electronic Banking.
- Broad understanding of market and
environmental drivers of product sets
- Comprehensive understanding of industry
standards e.g. relevant regulatory standards and SWIFT
- Strong interpersonal skills and good team
player
- Experience in turning strategic concepts into
defined business outcomes
- Passionate and results driven individual with
Articulate and professional communication skills.
