Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant / Pharm Tech 

Responsible For:
 The position is responsible for offering quality health care to all patients in the hospital and work closely with medical & nursing staff to ensure that patients receive the best treatment, advising on the selection, dose and administration route.

Accountable To:  Medical Officer In-Charge and working closely with the Head of Clinical in terms of reporting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense prescribed medications and pharmaceutical preparations according to patients' prescription.
  • Provide advice for non-prescription medications.
  • Monitor drugs and other medical supplies levels and initiate the procurement process.
  • Take inventory and track medication and supply orders.
  • Keep records of all drug stocks ordered, drugs issued to clients and stocks remaining.
  • Prepare and submit reports on daily sales undertaken and achievement to the management as required.
  • Arrange drugs in the required manner.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with customers which includes clinics, doctors, hospitals and other institutions.
  • Maintain and register DDA & antibiotics
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the Director
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • At least a Diploma in Pharmacy
  • One year experience in a similar position, preferably in a busy retail pharmacy set up will be an added advantage.
  • Must be enrolled with the Pharmacy & Poisons Board.
  • Good customer care skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Must be computer literate and be able to manage software programs.

Job Title: Medical Officer

Responsible For:
 The position is responsible for offering quality health care to all patients in the hospital and work closely with other staff in all departments providing support and guidance.

Accountable To:
 Medical Officer In-Charge and working closely with the General Manager in terms of reporting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensuring provision and coordination of clinical care and service delivery at the facilities (Inpatient Maternity and Outpatient services)
  • Participation in quality improvement initiatives
  • Promoting adherence to set organizational,  national and international standards of care
  • Responsible for patient chart review and peer review following the guidelines established by the quality of care committee
  • On call availability and the Maintenance of adequate provider staffing in the healthcare facility to ensure smooth flow of patients. This will include coordination of vacation schedule
  • Program development, implementation and evaluation of curative, preventive, promotive, and reproductive health services including family planning.
  • Carry out routine client consultations.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the director
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • BLS, ACLS and training in HIV/AIDS Management
  • Registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board and with a valid practice license
  • Experience in managing a team and building capacity/training
  • Ability to make quick and solid decisions
