Job Description: Your tasks will be to take responsibility and drive
all activities related to Public Relations Internship including:
- Shooting and editing short video clips for use
on Jumia you-tube channel e.g. product reviews
- Assist with organization of executive photos,
photo opportunities and events
- Writing and editing blog posts and website articles/descriptions
in consultations
- Assist in the organization of promotional
events such as press conferences, open days, exhibitions, tours and visits
- Assists with the development and updating of
media lists and other databases, including influencers, archives,
marketing, prospect and administrative databases. Other tasks include
database creation, data entry and update additions and corrections.
- Tracking all press coverage, clipping press
hits and general media monitoring
- Attends and participates in client meetings,
media training sessions, presentations, and brainstorming sessions if
applicable
- Assist with proofing written materials for
style, grammar, etc.
- Assist with monitoring client competition
coverage
- Drafting basic public relations materials
including news releases, fact sheets, client meeting summaries, status
reports, social media posts and other materials as directed.
Qualifications
- The candidate should be actively enrolled in,
or a recent graduate of, a university journalism, public relations, advertising
or other related program
- Proficiency with Final cut, Adobe premiere,
InDesign
- Solid writing skills, an ability to interact
professionally with media personalities and good judgement
- Good photography skills and editing
- Good writing skills
