Facilities Manager

Job Summary: Under direction of the Director of Operations, the
Facilities Manager is responsible for the maintenance, renovation and operation
of the campus academic and non-academic buildings, grounds and site utilities
including domestic water and power distribution.
The Facilities Manager oversees all
aspects of facility maintenance including building utilities’ systems, grounds,
custodial services, hazardous material management, and campus renovation
projects ranging from small to large sized projects.
Also, the Facilities Manager will be
in charge of budgets and must be able to negotiate with outside vendors for
supplies and repairs, in addition to supervising and coordinating the
activities of the facilities operations staff.
Due to the on-going construction,
there are major commitments required in working with the contractors at The
M-PESA Foundation Academy site.

entrepreneurship and leadership, giving the students time to learn outside of
the classroom, explore the arts and take part in sports. The Academy will serve
talented but economically disadvantaged students with demonstrated leadership
potential.
The Academy will cultivate the
students’ abilities to innovate irrespective of their academic strengths or
weaknesses. As such, students will work with teachers and one another to design
projects that can solve real world challenges.
Students who graduate from The Academy will be leaders in their fields of interest such as business, academia, politics, sports and the arts. They will be the entrepreneurs and community leaders who will drive Kenya forward.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead in the review; and operationalisation of
facilities management strategy/plan;
- Ensure the successful stewardship and renewal
of the physical assets of the campus to ensure safety and enjoyment of our
buildings and campus;
- Train, supervise and mentor a maintenance,
custodial and grounds crew and fostering a spirit of teamwork,
cooperation, and collaboration amongst all members of the Facilities
Department;
- Supervise all contractors working on the
school site; and
- Ensure all buildings are compliant with
construction standards/inclusivity — e.g. buildings friendly to persons
with physical challenges.
Personal Specifications
- A Degree in a related field; e.g. Land
Economics, Quantity Surveying and civil Engineering;
- At least five years of related facilities
management experience;
- Strong working knowledge of building
maintenance;
- Exceptional attention to detail; and
- Proven track record and ability to manage
complex building maintenance and renewal projects.

Job Summary: Admission into The Academy is highly competitive. It includes a multiple stage evaluation process for selected applicants. The goal of The Academy’s admissions review process is to select from a large pool of strong applicants from all 47 counties.

- Design a recruitment and selection schedule in
line with The Academy’s annual calendar;
- Identify and develop support tools and

Job Summary: The Director of Teaching and Learning is responsible for the academic curriculum of the institution, providing leadership to the faculty and managing the processes through which teaching is conducted and administered at The M-PESA Foundation Academy.
The Director of Teaching and Learning
is responsible for all curricula offerings, and oversees all the faculty
members who are responsible for administering, advising, research, and
innovation in the various programs of instructions and KCSE subject
offerings.
The role has supervisory
responsibility over all the academic departments at The M-PESA Academy.
In addition, the Director of Teaching
and Learning manages the student and parent expectations, providing guidance on
subject choices.
