Background: Under the overall guidance of the UNFPA Deputy Representative and direct supervision of the Adolescent Youth Specialist, the National project officer AYSRH will substantively contribute to the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of Adolescent/Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health.

He/She is expected to analyze and
assess relevant technical, political, social and economic trends and provide
substantive inputs and feedback to SRH/HIV/AIDS programme formulation and
evaluation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to the ministries of
Health and Education as well as Non-Governmental Organizations in
implementation, monitoring and supervision of Adolescent/Youth Sexual and
Reproductive Health programme activities in the supported counties.
- Provide technical support to the ministry of
Education Science and Technology on implementation of comprehensive
Sexuality Education.
- Prepare and submit programme and financial
analysis and reports on the implementation of the programme requests for
funds (FACE), and ensuring the implementing partners adhere to UNFPA
requirement and procedures;
- Participate in various technical working
groups relating to Adolescent/Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health
- Participate in the formulation of various
Reproductive Health program documents for the referenced ministries and
Non-Governmental Organizations.
- Facilitate and ensure regular monitoring,
supervision and continuous internal evaluation of project activities;
- Support the preparation of annual work plans
with implementing partners to ensure timely submission of work-plans and
budgets, reports and other relevant documents, release of project funds
and effective implementation of the project activities.
- Collaborate with other institutions and
organizations in the sharing of experiences and lessons learned;
- Participate in advocacy and resource mobilization
efforts of the Country Office;
- Facilitate the documentation and knowledge
sharing on current and emerging trends in ASRH/HIV&AIDS and gender
issues, by analyzing programmes, projects, strategies, approaches and
ongoing experience for lessons learned, best practices, and shares with
management for use in knowledge sharing and planning future strategies.

Qualifications:
- Successful candidates must have a master’s
degree in social sciences, Public Health and/ or other related fields.
- We expect minimum professional experience of 5
years, preferably in Adolescent/Youth Reproductive Health
programme/project management in the public or private sector.
- Candidates are expected to be fluent in
English Language and proficient in current office software applications.

Background: Under the guidance of the Adolescent / Youth
Sexual Reproductive Health Specialist, the Programme Assistant ensures the
effective administrative / clerical and logistical support in the Adolescent /
Youth Reproductive Health (AYSRH) outcome area within the Programme unit of the
Country Office. S/he works closely with programme, finance and project staff.
The Programme Assistant works with
and provides support programme staff in AYSRH outcome area in the development
and implementation of effective programmes consistent with UNFPA rules and
regulations.
S/he contributes to research,
financial management, and programme implementation including providing
necessary operational, administrative and programmatic support.
The Programme Assistant works in
close collaboration with the operations, programme and projects’ staff in the
Country Office, Regional Office and UNFPA as required for resolving complex
finance-related issues and exchange of information.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Liaise with Programme Officers for Reproductive
Health, to ensure that narrative and financial reports from partner
agencies are completed and submitted on a timely basis
- Provide programme and administrative support
in the preparation of programme work plans, budgets, and proposals on
programme implementation arrangements.
- Identify sources, and gather and compile data
and information for the preparation of documents, guidelines, speeches and
position papers.
- Support the Programme Team in the
implementation of the control mechanisms for implementing partners’
projects through monitoring of budget preparation and modifications.
- Support the Programme Team in the financial
management of Programmes.
- Provide necessary information for the audit of
programmes/projects and support implementation of audit recommendations.
- Support the Programme team in the tracking and
reporting on mobilized resources.
- Take minutes in the Programme/staff meetings
and distribute them appropriately.
- Assist in preparatory arrangements for
seminars/workshops and meetings.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
- Liaise with the M&E programme office to
ensure that data from the field is collated and synthesized and filed.
- Attend implementing partners and development
partners’ meeting/workshops and prepare reports to the office.
- Organize and maintain the filing system for
programmes with correspondence properly in respective files and
up-to-date.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned
by the UNFPA Representative, the Deputy Representative and Programme
Officers.

Qualifications

other related field
- 3 – 5 years of experience in Adolescent/youth
Reproductive Health and/or Gender, preferably with international agencies
or the United Nations.
- A good command of the English language, both
written and spoken, good drafting skills and preferably a working
knowledge of a second UN language; knowledge of Kiswahili.
- Proficiency in current office software
applications.

The Associate Claims Officer reports to the Administrative Officer, Head of Local Claims Review and Local Property Survey Board Unit (LCRB and LPSB) within the Office of the Director.

The Associate Claims Officer reports to the Administrative Officer, Head of Local Claims Review and Local Property Survey Board Unit (LCRB and LPSB) within the Office of the Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Within delegated authority, the
Claims Officer is responsible for the following duties:
- Handle legal matters relating to the Local
Claims Review Board (LCRB) and Local Property Survey Board (LPSB)
including assisting in matters relating to Board of Inquiries (BOI) of the
mission;
- Review supporting documents attached to claims
to verify accuracy and reasonableness while ensuring compliance with UN
Rules and Regulations;
- Coordinate and support the work of staff
involved in processing and verification of claims and processing of asset
writeoffs;
- Provide guidance, sound interpretations of
policies, and training as needed to ensure timely and accurate processing
of claims and property survey cases;
- Prepare case summaries and agenda to be
presented to the Local Claims Review and Local Property Survey Board for
its consideration;
- Prepare claims cases that can be summarily
approved by the Director under the mission’s Delegation of Authority;
- Analyze documentation received from various
sources concerning loss of or damage to property and record claims by
category;
- Handle a range of issues related to
international, public, private and administrative law, including the
interpretation and application of legislative and other instruments
governing United Nations activities and operations;
- Undertake routine or extensive review of legal
documents, instruments, or other material; identify important issues,
similarities, and inconsistencies, etc;
- Service or assist senior colleagues in serving
on various standing boards and committees as may be required;
- Assist in representing the Organization in
judicial, arbitral or administrative proceedings related to claims against
the Organization; Provide guidance to more junior staff;
- Handle third party claims with designated
local insurance company and assisting in maintaining the database for all
contingencies and liabilities in line with the provisions of IPSAS 17 and
19;
- Coordinate with Self-Accounting Units (SAUs),
Security and Property Management Section on matters pertaining to asset
write-offs;
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:
Education:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s Degree or
equivalent) in law or related fields.
- A first level university degree with relevant
combination of a minimum 4 years of professional experience may be
accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience:
- At least two years (with a Master’s Degree) of
progressively responsible experience in legal or paralegal management or
similar functions.
- Experience working with database management
software.
- Previous experience in the compilation or
settlement of third party claims in a legal setting is required.
Languages:
- Fluency in spoken and written English;
- knowledge of other languages spoken in Kenya
and Somalia would be an asset.
Driving Skills: Possession
of a valid Kenya national driving license would be desired.
